Yes, Old Time Players Will remember This Baby And Its Made A return thanks to Forge Wortld ... I Have One of the OLD Rouge Trader Ones That I've Keep As Decoration (Like A Few Of My Squats Lately) but with The Return Of this weapon, I've Been debating Re-introducing it Back in my IG Force .. Opinions On this piece of Artilary? And For those Of you who Don't know, EXPERIMENTAL rules for Thudd Gun can be found on: www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads40k.htm

When I first looked at it, I nearly crapped my pants. Barrage 4 from each gun, in a 1-3 gun battery? 12 blasts on one target? WHEEEE!
Then I noticed that each gun fights seperately, so you'd have to mark and scatter each gun's 4 shots seperately. Phoo.

But I think it'll be a nice look when you announce your shooting and your opponent starts sweating ;D

But could you imagine that in Cities of Death?

I want one. Just one has the potential to do worlds more damage then a squad of mortars, and it's cheaper. But screw Forge World, I'll make my own.

So I'm about done scratch building my first Thudd Gun. It's far from perfect, but I'm working with whatever I can find here at college. I'll get some pics up when I can. Crewmen and fancy bitz will have to wait till I get home...

I like the fact that thudd guns don't fire in a 3 gun battery, that almost would make them more accurate one would think. I hate when a battery starts off target and doesnt get much closer even with good rolls with the rest of the volley.
something I figured I'd add to this thread since it's artillery related and also relates strongly to guard infantry (since this thread is in the infantry forum) is the new dark angels whirlwind ammo. all I have to say is OUCH!!! "Ignores armor saves" is painful for us since we rely on cover for our armor saves. anyone know if this new ord round is ap5 or ap4?
