Yeah well, I plan on taking so many storm bolter weilding guys, coupled with an army of grenadiers, they'll just mow down the enemy while they sit cozy in cover.

i've just though of somthing if you give a ho or hso a refrator field does that mean that you potentialy have a power sword wielder that could survie an assualt since the enermy will be low numbers due to the amount of lasguns shots?

I've been considering tooling up my junior officers in the attempt of making them worthwhile, anyone have experience with this? I'm thinking powerfists (as initiative 3 always goes last anyway these days), refractor fields (you never know, right?), frag grenades, and carapace armor as a base.
I really don't want to tool up my HSO beyond his fluff gear cuz he's always sitting back babysitting the firebase with his awesome leadership and company standard, though, there are times when his firebase gets overrun that him not being able to do much kinda really sucks it bad, but at least his I4 helps justify the powerweapon.

Yeah, giving the officer a power weapon is definitely worth while.

As well as tooloing up the Juinior officers I also to use Commisars. They're better in combat and have a brilliant leadership. I give all my officers and Commisars carapace armour, power weapons and one or two of them have plasma pistols.
This might sound a bit pricey but think about it. These fella's only have to kill one marine to win they're points back.

Actually, a san. psyker, honorifica and force weapon costs about as much as a powerfisting commissar. Still, you don't get the Ld bonus, and you have to pay a doctrine point....
