OK, well I am thinking about buying a few of these guys, but i am still a little confused about how to use them can anyone explain a few thigns to me better than the codex? 1. With th powers chart, is that rolled for everytime you use a power, or like, once at the begining of the game and that spacific power is waht he can do the whole game? 2. How many can be in my commnad squad? And if only one what do I do with the other 4 i could possibly have? 3. These guys will be my first guys in my whole experience of Warhammer that are psykers, can someone explain the "Perils of the Warp" test? 4. Lastly I wanted to know if anyone else here uses them, and if so are they helpful at all? Rolling Thunder, Here is why found made this topic, if you would like me to read you them slowly, just ask. It wasnt that hard to find, I just looked at the first post. Also, Kaskrin were trained in a totally diffrent place to IG. [ And thank you for the compliment on the Avatar, its how i am at college at times ]

I don’t know I have tried them once, I was borrowing a friend’s army, and the second round the Commissar use the “it’s for your own good” rule I don’t know if making out the wager points on them is worth it when at any moment the commissar is going to kill them .

Since at max a psyker can cost is 62 points, and he can kill vitually any creature on the board by simply wounding it, they tend to utterly terrify army commanders who tool up their charecters to the nth degree (I once killed a Commander Dante with a sanctioned psyker! Mwhahahahahahaha!!!)

Thunder perhaps you should have read everything I wrote. I really like using psykers with the Honorificia (at least the one you can get). They are really cool and just as a little hint. My affiliation is only there because I like playing on the dark side a bit more then the light side. My main armies are CSM, IG and Traitor Guard. Oh and btw you can't move 24" in one turn anymore. And I always disliked Khorne his methods are just too clumsy and he doesn't allow me to have any fun with my victims... PS: But on the other hand the new Khornate Deamon Weapon is nice. The chance of having nearly as many power weapon attacks with just one mini like Azalar's complete HQ on assault has its nice points...

Maybe you should have a shufti at the new IA renegades list. Their psykers have v. cool abilities, and , should they suffer daemonic attack, become possesed and their attacks become rending. Roll over Beethoven.
Sorry if I offended you knight

No harm done Thunder. The IA renegades are really nice, but a bit expensive (and if I need the IA for that as well I can start burying myself). So for now I won't use the IA list...

I always try and get my friends to let me use the adversary rules in the witch-hunter codex for rogue psykers. Puppet dance is offically the best psychic power in the game. It often works 'cause my army looks sufficently evil.

azalar, stop being so rude please.
rolling thunder, thanks for having a thick skin and making a solid attempt to deflame your posts as you make them. I'm refreshed to see you get mad then apologize in a single post that leaves me un-upset.
there's a side of sanctioned psykers that I wanted to mention and that is their ablative ability. I know, it's rote to use sanctioned psykers for an ablative wound that may be purchased for twice what a normal guardsman would cost....but what about if you give him the honorifica? I know that's soooo unfluffy just to pack a couple extra wounds into a command squad, but if you're going for an uber command squad, just giving him the honorifica can pump up a command squad to have almost as many wounds as a full 10 man squad. just a thought.

Give him a force weapon as well and he can really beat up even smurfs and orks...

It wasnt supposed to come off as rude T-Boy, I was just making sure that Rolling Thunder, and anyone else who was veering off topic for that matter, knew why the topic was made.
It wasnt made for people to argue over whos pysker is the best, and if they should have the HI or not.
But if it did come off as rude or harsh, I am sorry.

thanks that's all I wanted to hear really bud anytime you think you might come off wrong, it's always good to consider those having a bad day who just take it wrong and put in a few words for those who need a bit of consideration. we're all family here and though there are a ton of people on the internet that can act like buttheads, I would really like to see that this is a place where 100% of the time we take care of eachother and make eachother feel valued and appreciated. disagreements are fine but making it known you don't want anyone who reads the post to walk away angry is just as important. I myself am partially guilty of failing in this regard for the bluntness with which I posted my judgment on your posting etiquette, commissar azalar. so in that vein, sorry I was so blunt and harsh with you bud. still though, a thought toward making sure our forum bros walk away not feeling like they need to quell their anger is a good thing to remember.

Yah, nil problemo senor. Tis a shame that psykers aren't as good as they really should be. The renegade psyker rule in the witch-hunters codex are much cooler (Puppet dance! Make your enemies own assault troops kill one another!!) But that albativeconcept is a good one... The psyker is the cheapest advisor charecter, and thus that is a good plan.
But I still prefer using him to carve through multirole charecters like tissue paper.
Purple haze, all around. Don't know, if i'm coming up or down...

In a White Dwarf a while ago A Psyker was given an Honourifica Imperialis and Force Weapon. The opposing player fell right into the trap, charged in there with the Warboss with Power Claw and had his soul banished to the warp before he realised what he'd done or was even able to fight back. its sneaky because everyone thinks psykers are no threat in close combat.

Yeah, I read that WD. What sgtbilko is forgetting to mention is that this fellow died whilst fighting the Warboss and lost a s**t load of victory points.

Everyone loses a sh*tload of VP'sto orks in close combat, as orks are the cheapest close-quaters troops in the game.....
