Has anyone ever tried fielding an army with warrior weapons? I love the idea of turning a reletively shooty army into a Close Combat mob but I'm really not sure how effective it would be.
Perhaps backed up with some good heavy support it could be plausable..... thoughts?

it is entierly POSSIBLE to do, but PLAUSABLE, i'm not sure how much. The idea of Imperial Guard winning using CC is a nice thoguht but if you take this route trust me you will end up loosing alot more then you would end up winning. like i said possible but not plausable in my opinion. Personally, i wouldne't take this route with IG.

arm a full conscript squad with warrior weapons...add an independant commissar in there with a power weapon...and watch as ure oponent get swamped...one suggestion is fielding basilisks as ure "support"...back in WW1...generals used artillery, firing barrages at the enemy to support the attacking infantry before they reach the enemy trenches....it was called 'rolling thunder'...so having about 2 or 3 bassies are gna do some real pummeling...mebe even get some of ure oponents squad pinned...and then completely swamp the remainding forces with ure cc guys
