Deep in the genetic research labs of Sheol improved humans are rolling out of the breeding pens. Did not the foul emperor himself use animal DNA to create his accursed astartes? If not, explain the space wolves!!! (The Plasma gun pose comes from my propensity to roll 1s on plasma guns. This is the best way to fire one in MY army!) Made with leftover bits from the Catachan Heavy sprue

Unless you're planning on using them as traitor guard, I'd remove the Chaos iconography and get some aquilas on there. The inquisition are going to be after you anyway, so you might as well try and look loyalist!
Great kitbashing, can't wait to see more!

They are indeed traitor guard. From a planet that got some pre-heresy information on genetic splicing from a questionable rogue trader. Will have some painted pictures soon.

Those Beastmen bits work really well with the Catachan bits... now I'm getting tempted to do an Imperial Beastmen Guard army... damn you! Have to point out though - the guy on the far left looks like he's dancing to me... Still awesome though... possibly more awesome for the dancing man

OK finished them! First is my favorite, the plasma gun. With a BS of three you miss half the time, and one third of your misses has a really good chance of killing you! Only the Imperial guard would love such a weapon. I am sure a single plasma gun goes through multiple operators in its lifetime This mutant is saying "Not in the face! Not in the face!!! Next the missile launcher crew. One always has to put some scenery on these big bases or they look extra silly. I added a Hirst arts crate cast in resin. Now the sarge and the rest of the platoon. Need a platoon level command squad and another platoon of these bad boys, then a penal legion of mutants and misfits. Thanks for looking!

Those are looking fantastic - a real trip down memory lane for us "oldies"!
Just as an idea for your Penal Troops, you could go to a full extreme reverse of a Guard army and have the Penal Troops a mixture of Cadian, Catchan, Valhallan - well any Imperial army - just make them look really random like they are the last surviving prisoners!

That's a cool idea. I already have a few started with collars. The term "Slaves to Darkness" from the old Chaos books from the rogue trader days came to mind. Just a mixture of beings from the homeworld who are like fanatics driven into battle by a whip welding master (Or mistress!)
