if you can get a priest into a 50 man conscript platoon I'd say that'd work well I really haven't looked at them much to be honest other than that though.

Unfortunately I don't think that they can. Pretty sure advisers can't be assigned to conscripts ( or ogryns ), probably to stop 51 guys charging and rerolling all their misses (man, that would be awesome lol). I've used preists a few times. There are some pros and cons in using them. The -ves They take up a doctrine point, and u usually only have 1 or 2 preists, which I find a bit expensive doctrine points wise. U have to give 1 to your command platoon CS, and then they always count as moving, and if they can assult, they have to. I use my CP CS as the back bone to keeping my armies morale intact, either by banner bearer, master vox, or both. Once your SO is in CC, the command special rule no longer works, which can be very dangerous. There are ways around this, but it can be risky. The +ves An extra body in your CS is never a bad thing, even if it is just to take wounds. Rerolling misses speaks for itself. I only take preists if I'm planning on charging, which most people would say is a bad idea from the start any way. If you are going CC, then preists, hardened fighters, and tooled up CS squads can be lethal, especially if you have a commisaar and a pysker with a force weapon all in the same unit. But it is expensive, and ur still not as great at CC as other specialists from other armies. However in the past I have seen off an ork warboss with retinue of nobs all in eavy armour, so it can work. Over all, I find commisaars a better choice.

if you're set on priests, then take sanctioned psykers and get a commissar in that command squad too - make a death squad out of your command squads, filled with as much pain per point as you can fit in. commissar with powerfist is a must. sanctioned psyker with honorifica and force weapon for the command hq would do well. I'd probably use the sanctioned psyker as the ablative wound model in the rest of the command squads since they have such poor statlines for melee without the honorifica.
I'd definately stick with grenade launchers too for ranged weapons.

The Problem with priest is that they keep the troops in such a state of agitation, they cant use Heavy Weapons as they count as always having "moved" Thats why I dont take them, ever.

I agree with Turtleboy but priests cost a lot of points and they dont even get an armour save, and if you do want one well there goes 30 points down the drain for the rosarious.

I like priests. They are exellent if you want to surprise your opponent by suddenly charging out in CC. I once destroyed a whole eight-man Space Marine assault squad in the first CC round with my command squad + priest. Okay, I had some good dice rolls, but it did scare the crap out of my opponent!

I think madman told some stories of command squads with a priest attached back in the day, but he's been gone now for a good while and I can't be sure if it was a priest or a commissar he was on about - either way, madman did some damage with his command squads, so advisors seem like they can make a good value for the points invested if you use em right. he always talked about keeping them in cover for counterassault.
