Can demos not be used in combat patrol? the patrol rules say no ordanace but is a demo classified as ordanace ??
dang looks like I can't deep strike either in it.

Look at the rules in your codex. What's it say the Demo charge is? There's your answer.

though there's nothing stopping you from taking a chimera with a heavy stubber and using it like a fire support tank. 9 shots from 36" will swiss cheese some infantry bigtime, and armor 12 is really solid in combat patrols. your enemy will likely have 1 or 2 guns that threaten it - just watch out for them, use terrain like forests to snipe those few guns off via pruning. hmm, I should probably explain pruning...
pruning: to use terrain in a manner as to block line of sight to all but a couple models in a unit so that casualties must be removed from those few models. this is effective if the enemy puts their heavy or special weapons, vox casters, or sergeants on an exposed side of the squad.
at any rate yeah, there's lots you can do besides using demo charges.

I won by using my ratlings to pin any thing of threat . then my number of weapons dealt with anything else.
