Looking good. For a power fist, go to www.armourarchive.org and use the pattern for finger gauntlets. Make them out of plastic and put them on a hockey glove. -Link wow, i had no intention of doing a fist, but now its actually feasible!! thank you so much!

just saying, as a loyal servant of the imperial faith i agree but whos to say there might be other reasons for the costumes?

love of the emperor is a very valid reason for the creation of this costume, but true, not the only one. i have a group of friends who intend to make costumes for the san deigo comic convention this year, we want to go together as a group, an inquisitor, vindicare assassin, a priest, perhaps a psyker and of course me as a commissar, my wife may also go as a ww2 inspired pinup guardswoman . not sure how successfull the rest of the group are for their plans in costume, but when they asked me to be a commissar i jumped at the chance. oh, by the way, i need some advice. i'm changing the hat, what should i change it to? www.sovietarmystuff.com/detail.php?product_id=117or www.sovietarmystuff.com/detail.php?product_id=311i plan to take the Russian insignia off, and add some more warhammer looking style to it, but what makes a better base?

Hmm... The soviet one is smaller, but the russian one is massive! I would say the russian cap, since commie hats are just, ridiculously oversized. But the soviet hat would just look so communist-licious... Get both.

The Russian one. It gives so much more space to add a large Imperial logo.

I'd have to agree that the bigger hat is more appropriate.

I'm thinking the bandwagon is right on this one. The bigger one clearly fits the Commisariate bill.

They both fit the commissariat role, Im sure if you get either one they'll both work just as well.

i'd love to meet a few more imperial themed costume people at san diego comic con personaly. i got a pair of german jackboots, real leather for 12 bucks in a thrift store.. web cam shot of them. infact i got so annoyed with the bad photos, my wife and i got a good camera finally. just in time for me pretty much finishing the pistol. might add a scuff mark or too extra, whaddya think? edit: oh the shells in the mag are still as bright as previous pics, the aquilla colour is more a brassy gold, should i paint the shells in the mag to that gold or leave then super shiny like in the previous pics?

That...gun...is...sooo...COOOOL!!!!!
I personally think, maybe with the shiny clip, maybe give it a bit of a black wash maybe to make it look a bit darker. Also maybe the aquila should be white/silver, but like you said the aquila is more brassy then it looks so it should be fine. Keep it up!!!
