Actually the Vendetta is quite well priced in comparison to the latest codexes and since they took away its ability to outflank, it's suffered even more.
Dam serpent shields, scatter lasers and just about everything in the Tau arsenal will bring them down. Oh and Grav/Lascannon centurions will destroy them!
So, I have no guilt in using them!
I would actually like to see them drop in points to 120pts or even give them a way to outflank back
The current IG dex is very restrictive and getting troops across the board for us is almost impossible now, plus we're being constantly out-gunned by the more recent release (bar DA, Daemons and Nids)which is painful, seeing as the IG is supposed to be a shooty army!
Just look at a well built Eldar list and see how much shooting they can put out, repeatedly, and with the comfort of robust and tough units!
I'd kill for a holofield, serpent shield, disruption pod upgrades for a Chimera!

I agree with dangerrod. In 6th edition the chimera's have taken a major hit with the editions of hull points and kink saves. Our little tanks can not only be glanced to death, we don't even get a chance to save it. It's sad that our transports can be taken down by bolter fire.

You know, I wouldn't mind an upgrade that gave our Chimeras even a 6+ save vs. glancing hits, or AV 11 on the flanks.

you mean like cover? really, the imperial guard have never had any fancycloaking devices etc that would give us a save against damage besides smoke launchers. i can't see why we would need to recieve them now (fluffwise). i do agree however that we're being outgunned by armies such as tau, which why i belive we'll eather see some of the following changes: -infantry becoming even cheaper -some special rules which makes you bring back destroyed infantry (perhaps by taking a special character) -more orders, up to sgt level; for example sgt's being capable of ordering first rank fire, second rank fire. while commanders get more exotic orders such as bombardements, illuminating certain sections of the board, smokescreens etc. note all of this is just wishlisting though!

sorry.. I cannot agree regarding the chimera
For 55 points you get: 2 heavy weapons 10 person transport allows 5 men to fire in a 360 degree arc (yet isn't open topped) it has AV 12 front armour
okay - it has AV10 on the sides, so these need protecting.
I know 6th has nerfed it slightly - but it nerfed everything across the game in the same way.
and the Tau should be able to out shoot guard!
just my opinion.
I appreciate your thoughts and its always interesting to hear different points of view.. you may convince me yet!

If Tau are out shooting you, you are not bringing enough artillery.

I really hope they decrease points cost for Storm Troopers. I love them, but they are expensive and only get two special weapons. The only us I found for them is to deep strike with flamers on to the enemy warlord and hope they make the kill before they are wiped out. I would also like to see something done with sentinels, both scout and armored. I would like to take a page from the tau piranha and make squads of 5 with them. They could also use a points tweaking (especially armored).

Actually, the better bet with Storm Troopers is to give 'em plasma guns. That way, even if there's no way for you to get to his warlord, you can still threaten the rear armor of anything that isn't a Land Raider, Monolith, or a flyer.
This is assuming, of course, that your metagame involves copious quantities of people who play Space Marines of one flavor or another.

"Only get 2 special weapons"
There has been talk of veterans being downgraded to 2 sw as well.... Although it's just rumour right now.

God I hope not. This rumor crops up ever few months. Which is funny because everyone keep clamoring for more types. I wouldn't have believed it until the nid codex dropped and it had all those cuts.
Still they have model range already made in plastic. There is not much reason to drop it if it still sells. They might just scale back production.

From the rumor I read over on faiet, the catachan's are being discontinued as they are having low sales and that they are going straight cadian with death korps of kreig and elisian drop troop supplements as they are now partnering with forgeworld

How can they do this to our poor jungle fighting friends Actually most Uk stores haven't been carrying Catachan command squads for a long while now, they're mail order only. I doubt they'll stop being produced; you don't just bin a mould that's worth that much and that's only 4/ 5 years old.

Catachans might not have a heavy presence in the new codex, but I don't see the models going anywhere. GW kept the metal minis for all the other regiments for so long, i don't think they would get rid of perfectly good plastic ones.

'Chans have been Direct Only here in the Colonies for quite some time now... At least since late '08/early '09 for the HWTs and Squad boxes. But the CCS kit is still fairly new, and I don't see GW dropping them until the recoup the tooling costs for it, along with the fact that Catachan has been part of the GW mythology since Rogue Trader, and they were the first "named" Guard regiment to get minis back in second edition.
Of course, acting CEO Kirby apparently is not even suited to run a Whelk stand, so all of what I'm saying above could be completely defenestrated...

Don't get too excited, I also heard that one, and the next rumor said guard are not gettin them. There is going to be an imperial knight data slate or supplement coming out in march now and imperial guard are being pushed back to April and their name is being changed to Astra Militatium...
