Pardon the mess on my desk. Sisters of Silence with Knights of the Chalice heads The Purifier hero mini, two Not-Repentia, and one of the regular sisters. Having completed a full squad and a retributor squad, I don't like the troop sprues very much. The head angles and body poses are extremely awkward, and the thought that went into figuring out how to connect the Not-Repentia to the sprues without making them difficult to clip without damage isn't very evident. Knight of the Chalice next to the last member of my Ultras' command squad, for size comparison.

Head swap on the SoS is looking great. The knights seem to be about as tall as a Terminator, but of course they have their head on the top rather than that whole hunchback thing. It does make up for some of the termie bulk they lose from having slightly less clunky armour but yeah, they're a bit huge next to GW Sisters.
Edit: Just scrolled back up nd I can't get over how much better Sisters of Silence look without those stupid default heads.

More poor quality pics of mediocre painting, becuase I know how to give the people what they want! Worth noting in the background of that second one, I have a terminator and a Knight of the Chalice side by side. Like Empty said, if it wasn't for the hunchback pose where the armpits are level with the chin, they'd be roughly the same height.

I do like the darker blue you're using

Thanks guys! Since I don't do all the fancy stuff you're supposed to when you paint, the scheme comes out darker (Retributor armor for the gold and Ultramarine blue for the blue, which I foolishly thought would be the correct shade given the name).
I decided to fill out the demi-company into a "proper" one, with a 10 man dev and assault squad, so that's another 15 marines to paint. I'm still debating if I want to get FW Girlyman.

wait so is it going to be a proper company? or a proper demi-company? They look good in that slightly darker shade though.

Only the finest girlyman money can buy, if I do go all in there. nutty: Demi company. It would cost me about $350-$400 to do full company "properly", given the parts I use, and I'd rather not splash that sort of cash on a collection that feels done.

What about a GW Guilliman with a Matt Ward head swap?
Edit: You'd have to add lots of extra purity seals and his base would be a bunch of fallen special characters from lesser codexes.

In order to canonically use a Mat Ward headswap (or any other bit of Ward kit), you must first make a diorama scene of Grey Knights slaughtering Battle Sisters to harvest their blood for double purity power.

Go for the Forgeworld Guilliman it's far less cartoony and has the awesome marble base. I painted it before and it's a beauty of a sculpt.

Guilliman or a Stormboid? In order to canonically use a Mat Ward headswap (or any other bit of Ward kit.... A ... Mat Ward headswap? Isn't that too big to use for converting miniatures?

It's Girlyman, a Mk IV. armor command (banner and officer), and the Ultramarines transfer sheet. I don't buy vehicles from FW (or infantry if I can help it) since the quality control has been pretty poor for the price I'm paying, at least in my experience.

You've made the right decision. The Ultramarine transfer sheet is excellent, there's loads of useful stuff on it! Also the big G is probably my favourite Primarch except for maybe Horus. Can't wait to see the finished product!

FW order arrived today, and thank you to everyone who encouraged me to get the model. It's absolutely fantastic, and the cast was near-flawless.

So, a teaser for what I've been working on. The collection is almost complete, with the last pieces on order. Warboss with da best shoota (hard to tell from the image but it has two scopes, two bayonets, and three barrels), Big Mek with Tellyporta Blasta, Komib Skorcha, and Power Klaw, and Big Mek with Power Klaw and KFF. Generic painboy from the getting started box, mek with nothing special (although he does have a shoota for a peg leg, hard to tell from the picture), and a mek with kill saw that leads my Burna Boyz. The full collection will be about 100 nobz, boyz, and grots all told with four trucks, six Kanz, a Deff Dread, two battle wagons and three Mek guns, plus maybe some regular gunz if I decide to scrape the crew together.

You'll notice now they have Quality and Control checks now, with a sign documentation to show this also. I have had 1 part on my Preator that was bad, they requested pictures of the QA signature and part, then they sent me out a new part pretty quickly.
