Well it seems impossible for me to keep my focus on one project for more than five minutes, so here's something new for you again. I got a nice little set of Marines (AoBR marines, Furioso and a terminator chaplain) totally free, and thought of painting them in yellows, as I haven't had ane yellow armies yet. Also I've decided not to use amy metallic paints on these, to get a little cartoony feel to thos group (and also because I hate the gold paints. They are so thin and don't cover anything without at least four coats). Commenting allowed! Cheers!

Very nice painting! You've got the cartoony feel across well.

Those look awesome! I've always wanted to do an Imperial Fists army, but didn't like the traditional strong yellow colour. I'd love to be able to paint them in the same tones you've used - any chance of a walkthrough as to how you painted the main armour colour?

The yellow is simply Iyanden Darksun basecoat, some Devlan Mud wash and three layers of Iyanden Darksun mixed with Skull White, every layer a little lighter than the previous. I try to keep these as simple as possible, so I can get them painted some day too.

i think two words, used in conjunction with eachother, sum these up fantatically;
'Oh'
and
'Yeah!'
Great job matey, a very unique take on a classic chapter, can't wait to see more!

More to come as requested. I've oreded some Imperial Fist symbols from GW and I'll add some to this dread also, if they are the right size. For now its just plain AoBR dread.

You do realise that, if this army gets completed to 1500pnts, I may have to hit you over the head with a badger and steal it from you?
It's looks absolutely fantastic... curse your black heart!

Intentionally making them cartoony? Genius - best possible use for the AoBR marines. Let's see some more!

Thanks for the comments! More to come! Sergeant is still missing, but he'll follow soon. I'll paint the insignia on them all at the time, when I'll figure out what I'm going to paint.

Really nice.
Great work.
Edit: You know I am beginning to think that I like the grey over the metallic. It has a great look.

i've always been a fan of the brownish yellow, as oppsoed to the yellow of gw painted Imperial Fists.
My favorite is probably the fact that you used gray for the metals instead of metallic paints, very cool indeed

Sgt Walters - quick question - what greys are you using on the miniatures? Mind sharing the layers etc
I gave it a crack today and was quite impressed by the results. I'm really beginning to prefer it over the metallic paints.

Thanks for the praises again! Sgt Walters - quick question - what greys are you using on the miniatures? Mind sharing the layers etc I gave it a crack today and was quite impressed by the results. I'm really beginning to prefer it over the metallic paints. It's Astronomican Grey, Black wash, Astronimican Grey again leaving the recesses darker, and finally Codex Grey highlight. I'm quite suprised myself too how effective the result is compared to the easiness of the painting.

I have to admit, I think it's a bit mean of you to give me ideas on how to paint Imperial Fists this well, considering my Marine force is complete... grrr... I don't want to start a new Marine army... too many projects already!
Really is some great work you've put in though dude!

Sorry Gabriel, I 'll nevet post anything again. ...Just kiddin', nice that you like my work. It makes painting so much rewarding, when you know that even someone like what you've done. This one's out of the oven next. I don't have any idea how this works gamewise, but it was such a nice model that I had to get it, cause i was on sale. Commenting authorized!

The storm is awesome, but I may be biased cause I absolutely love that model Catachan heads work surprisingly well on the scout bodies, and now you don't have to use those munting scout heads! The cartoony look is good too - much better than I would have thought if you had described it without any pictures ;D

This is too good. Someone ban him, so that the rest of us don't have to feel inferior.

Thanks for the comments! This is too good. Someone ban him, so that the rest of us don't have to feel inferior. Such a ban would be an honour, though I don't hope for that, I like the atmosphere of this place too much. I'm getting bored of all your really awesome stuff, do something rubbish then I can slate you! I'll have to put extra effort to create something really crappy next time.

Screw that, just force him to post more and more stuff - with regular updates of newly painted awesomeness... That'll teach him (or at least sate my thrist for more of these Fists!)

Haha... I would never seriously suggest banning anyone unless they made it clear that they had no respect for the IGMB or the people on it. I know you know I was joking, I just wanted to be clear.
I'm with Gabe; you're going to have to post more pics, or we'll find where you live and beat the pictures out of you. He's got connections in the Inquisition, you know...
(Although you sate hunger, and slake thirst...)
