nice, I suggest getting another tactical squad, and some heavy weapons, as it seems you have none. All in all, great painting, I know it's really hard to get yellow, but you've done a really good job at it, especially with the speeder.

Welcome to my harsh higlighting and bad blending blog again! Yeah, getting there with the heavys and stuff. I'm buying as much as possible second hand, so it might take a some time that convenient unit come available. But here's a second tactical squad for you people. These were originally space wolves, to whom I changed some heads and shoulder pads, so there might be some wolf insignia somewhere.

People, go through your drawers and shoe boxes and where ever you might ever have stored minitures. I was looking for a totally different miniature, that I thought I might have somewhere, but instead I run into this old conversion that I have made like five years ago. Needless to say, I just had to get it painted, so here's a really quick update for you in the form of a techmarine:

I would have written a big stream of how awesome all your work is continuing to look, and how impressed I remain.
But instead, I'll just put: Incredible.

Just came to announce that I'm not dead. If somone wondered where I was. The record breaking heat (at least here in Finland) added to my summer job has just drained all life out of me for the last couple of months, so I haven't managed to get almost anyhing done at home in the evenings. But I am still alive, and little by little I'm getting something together. Here's a little prewiev of what's to come when this sweatty hotness ends: Command group is well in the way. I didn't even remember I owned that commander either, when I found him in a drawer. And a squad of assault marines. Wanted to personalize them a bit so I gave them some really cool steam knight helmets from Maxmini. Well, keep an eye on this one. Cheers, Sgt. Walters

The heat (or more acuratly, the sticky sweaty humidity) here is having a similar effect on me, so you deffinately have my sympathies.
The command squad is coming on nicely (I also have that captain model... though mine has undergone some... conversion...).
Looking forward to seeing how the assault squad turns out - loving the helmets!

Sorry for anther threadomancy, but I didn't want to create a new thread so that new people could see the old minis too. Seems like these have waited over two years to be finished. I I have been though quite a lot these past years, but now it seems it's time to get back to my roots: Painting and modeling. Hopefully this is part of another new beginning, for this great army too.

They look really classy with those grey knight helmets. Well done, Sgt Walters, really outstanding painting.

Thanks!
I still have to put something on their shoulder pads. They look a bit plain at the moment. I ordered some Forge World brass Imperial Fists symbols, so I'll probably add them as they arrive.

I know I'm late to this but I must say I do like the Grey-instead-of-metallic approach here. I wouldn't use it on my armies (especially now that I've started with metallics! duh!) but as something to look at I can appreciate the style. Especially the back of that dread.

Thanks optimat! The plain grey isn't the most common approach to painting metal, especially when it's not even trying to be NMM. I think it's nice to have something even remotely out of the ordinary when painting the basic codex chapters. Next up I have some scouts. painted these in a day and now that I look at them in the pics it really shows. Can you spot all the flaws? Also, I don't know why I started this here, but should this be moved to Picture Post -forum?

Another finished squad. I'll be adding a standard bearer when I get the brasses and I can put somthing nice on the banner. You can click on these too, to get a much bigger picture.
