Life's been a bit hard these past couple of months, but I'm just getting back into hobbying. Thought I'd share my latest conversion work. I've been converting up some Hydras but rather than go the autocannon route, I thought I'd base them of the British Army Starstreak close air defence system .... Here's what I've come up with .... There was quite a bit of work involved with converting the chimeras as they were a trade and in a pretty bad state. If you're interested in the work involved, it's detailed on my blog ... corbaniaprime.blogspot.com/2010/07/starstreak-hyrda-prepd.htmlcorbaniaprime.blogspot.com/2010/07/second-starstreak-finished.htmlHope you like them guys.

Very nice conversion work dude! I'm really liking this alternate version of the Hydra, and I can't wait to see them get painted.

Cheers guys, hopefully I'll have them painted up soon. I'm also planning another third hydra that will be a bit special but I need to find the bits first.

Very nice indeed.
It would also not be unreasonable for you to 'count as' Manticores.

That's what I thought when I first saw them, although 'missile defense' works for me! Great conversions!

@cadichan-But with only 8 tubes, it would be hard to let it use the autocannon rules.
Nice idea and a really cool model Corbane!

These things are bloody wonderful. I simply hated the look of the hydra, however desperately wanted the function they provide. Your work on these is superb and you never fail to be such a constant source of inspiration. Could I trouble you for some guidance on how to make some of my own? Do tell, how did you cut the roofs so accurately? How did you go about making those rivets? And the grates? The more detailed the instructions the better! As well a place to buy these material would be excellent.

THat particular beaut would not only work as a Hydra, I personally would not have a problem using that as a Manticore.
