That would be pretty winsome if you could fit it in.
Maybe on the base below. If you could position it well then it might look like it just dropped out.

That would work too! In other news, I decided that my Dakka jet needed more dakka, so I nicked some guns from my other Dakka jet kit (which I then built as a Blitza Bommer) and stuck them on it, and then swapped the pilots around, and used the Blitza kit's pilot to build a new pilot who is firing the double barrel slugga that comes in the Boyz kit out of the cockpit.

I thought you were using a baal predator as the basis? The baal has a different front plate and no windows.
Where did you get the shield and wolf pelt from, on the front of the pred?
10 wolf guard terminators - I like how you've gone for the individual armament style.

Yeah, the 2nd generation (hybrid metal/plastic) Baal Predator is basically a stock plastic Predator kit with added pewter bits, so I just raided an unopened one I had laying around (since I haven't touched my BA in forever) for the hull, turret, and weapons. The shield and pelt but I nicked from the Stormfang/wolf kit; there are also some chains hung with wolf tail fetishes, runes, and teeth from the Stormfang that I stuck on the sides of the Predator's hull. The Termies were fun to build. I had gotten a box of them years ago when they were first released that had been sitting still in its shrink wrap in the Super Basement (TM) for the better part of 5 years, and I combined them together with the WG Termie sprues that were included in Stormclaw--that box set is an amazeballs deal.

OK, I thought you were using the new plastic baal.
Hang on. I had the 2nd generation metal hybrid normal predators from years ago and they were supplied with the old rogue trader rhino, rather than the new rhino. Strange.

That was the 1st generation Baal Predator from the late 90's. It had the round-style metal turret (as did the 1st generation Annihilator sprung out from the original all plastic RT-era autocannon Predator before they started making the "generation 1.5" Predator with the boxy metal turret on the RT-era Rhino chasis, but I think there was only an autocannon version of that type? Or possibly the Annihilator also had a boxy turret version too?) and was on the old RT-era Rhino chassis. The 2nd generation Baal was the hybrid plastic/metal kit on the new style Rhino chassis, and the 3rd generation Baal is the all-plastic one.

I had both variants of the 1.5 then; the annihalator variant had the rounded turret and the normal autocannon one had a boxy turret.

Yeah, the more I think about it the Annihilator was only a gen. 1 round turret type before the new plastic Predator kit was released. I may still have an example of the gen. 1.5 boxy autocannon turret lurking in a parts box somewhere, and still have my gen. 1 Baal, gen. 1 Whirlie, and gen. 1 Razorback. I got the gen. 1 Whirlie at Games Day 1990-something when it was first released, and initially painted it for my Wolves, but then repainted it for my BA. I think I've got a modern unbuilt Whirlie lurking somewhere, I was going to slap the FW Hyperios parts on it for my BA but now I'm thinking I may divert it over to my Wolves and capture my original vehicle complement. I've still got my gen. 1 Landraider dressed in SW colors, and have a modern LR that I was working on for them years ago that I need to get back to working on as well...

trooper you dabble in a bit of everything don't you! lol I thought I was bad for having too many armies Indeed I do. Space Wolves were my third army back in the second edition days (with BA and Chaos being my first and second, starting in the Rogue Trader days), and I actually learned most of my painting skills from White Dwarf (back in the day when it was great for teaching techniques) to paint my SW army. Sadly I sold it after finishing undergrad, and always regretted doing so, and have been working to reconstitute it.

That would actually not interfere with my policy of drinking Scotch neat, since the magical ice is unmelting I wouldn't have to worry about my drinky getting watered down! Brilliant! And heretical...

So then this happened: More decorative bits nicked from the Stormfang, along with various bits from SW upgrade sprues.

So I picked up the plastic Bjorn kit yesterday, and it's pretty sweet. Enough bits are included that I was able to take a spare set of normal plastic SM Dreadnought parts that I'd had laying around and turn them into a venerable Dreadnought with the Great Axe and Shield combo, with just a little bit of trimming to get parts to fit, and nicking a couple of wolf tails from my bitz box. Very cool! I haven't put their smoke launchers on yet, and Bjorn still needs the HF added to Trueclaw along with the sticking of a wolf pelt onto Trueclaw's shoulder, but I'm quite chuffed! I've got another partial spare set of regular SM Dreadnought bits on hand, and I may at some point order the necessary bits to build it out as Murderfang (except I will be using a regular Dreadnought sarcophagus face plate in place of the "Murderface head.")

You should sculpt a Murderface head instead. It will give you unending joy to have it on the table top.

You should sculpt a Murderface head instead. It will give you unending joy to have it on the table top. That would be pretty awesome and so I shall have to consider it... PI$$NOUGHT! The neat thing about the axey-shieldy dread is, that being plastic, I can modularize its weapon load-outs. The Wolves still have to option of doing the TL-lascannon + missile launcher option on their Dreadnoughts, and they also have access to what I'm calling a "Half Mortis" build of TL-lascannon + TL-autocannon. I've also got to figure out what I'm going to do with my old metal Bjorn kit, I may look into doing an assault cannon + missile launcher build on it, using the original Bjorn AC arm, and replacing the metal claw arm (with its old-old style HF) for a missile pod. I just added the HF to plastic Bjorn's Trueclaw, and I wound up not using the stock HF bit (with goofy fuel canister) that came with the kit. Instead I nicked the HF bit from one of the regular SM Dreadnought kits (that has a fuel line which runs into the shoulder block) and with a bit of trimming got it to fit. It looks pretty ace, if I do say so myself.

So I did some final blinging on Bjorn and his pal... Pal got a gem put on his left shoulder, two-headed wolf detail on the shoulder's side flexible armor plate, and the smoke launcher: Bjorn got his smoke launcher, and Trueclaw was finished up with the better style HF and a wolf pelt: And here's Bjorn with the Helfrost cannon swapped in for the assault cannon (the guns are totally plug and play):

I'm sorry, Trooper, but I still think the axe and shield combo look super silly, even by GW standards. I'm liking Bjorn, though.

Well, the nice thing is that the axe and shield arms can be popped off and replaced with shooty weapons, or if I source appropriate wrist bits I can fashion up lightning claw hands to pop on in place of the axe and shield. However, the shield... A Dreadnought with a 3+ invulnerable save from front angle attacks, and it counts as a second close combat weapon? That's pretty nifty, in my book, stylistic deficiencies aside. Oh, and the axe is X2 strength, is Master Crafted, and both the axe and shield inflict AP2 hits... Not too shabby. (And it still looks better than Centurions, the Space Guppy, and the Derp Talon.)
