Nice! I was tempted to get a forge world bloodthirster the other day but went for a banegammer instead.may pick this one up myself when I start painting chaos again. Thanks! BTW, it's the new plastic 'Thirster, not the FW one. It's an outstanding kit. Very well designed, and easy to assemble. I think it's also likely quite easy to magnetize so one can switch between the three different flavors of 'Thirsters, but I wanted to get it assembled so I didn't faff about with that. Hopefully I'll be able to get this guy primed and painted soon... Attachment Deleted

That's really good. Once you've painted it can you scale it up next to a guardsman for the comparison shot?

That's really good. Once you've painted it can you scale it up next to a guardsman for the comparison shot? I'll do eet right nao with a hapless kneeling 'Chan carapace plasma vet! "All weesa Guardsmen gonna die?" The new 'Thirster is pretty huge. About the same height (to the top of the axe) as a Riptide, but not as bulky (excepting the wings).

Thanks. It looks like he's being made to dance with precision plasma shots. You'ssa welcome, Chem-sa! 'EES BLOODY 'UGEEEEE!!! 'EEE NONA CARES ABOUT DAT PLAS-MAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... To put it into perspective, I think an upright (a.k.a non-kneeling) 40K infantry mini would be about knee high to the new plastek 'Thirster. MORE POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Attachment Deleted But yeah. I think that the "plastek" 'Thirster is, PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-haps, the greatest kit that GW HAZ made to date. BFTBG. SFTST.

Can't wait to see the other 3 daemon types. Will you get the other power greater daemons as well?

Can't wait to see the other 3 daemon types. Will you get the other power greater daemons as well? If GW makes them... I'll PROB-AB-REE just get the Great Unclean One, as the other Chaos power I collect is Nurgle. Don't HAZ time for DAT Tzeentch MAH-JICK or DAT Slaanesh BDSM-conspiracy of preverts stuffs...

Tzeentch is probably the one I'd collect but to make a decent daemon army it's probably best to mix the units from the different chaos gods. I think the Blue Scribes would be essential; they can cast anything with no associated penalty whatsoever. So you could use them to just summon an extra greater daemon every turn and watch the enemy squirm. Playing daemons just sounds like too much hassle; especially considering the 'get nerfed super-hard by the warp every turn' chart at the back of the book

Hehehe... Today I ordered something from GW to use as the basis of a conversion for something to add to my Chaos forces that I estimate will cause RedsandRoyals' head to 'splode with anger. I'm also embarking on a quest to de-derpify both the Skull Cannon of Khorne and the Forgefiend kits by merging them together in an unholy amalgamation that will result in something resembling a Daemonic Tron bike... If I can pull it off.

So now this has happened... Although, I did already have 3 of the Bloodcrushers. I had gotten them years ago to try and bash a plastic 'Zerker champ on a Juggernaut, but couldn't make it work, so I 'Crushered them. My Soul Grinder is not pictured... Up next will be a metric crapton of Plaguebearers, Plague Drones, and Nurglings.

So today this happened: Eumenstra the Everbleeding, Bride of Khorne, Keeper of the Red Rage, Fallen Battle Sister from the Order of the Bloody Rose. The base model is Valkia the Bloody, with her shield (and lower right arm) replaced with a Dark Eldar Wych's gauntlet and a plasma pistol from the Raptor set bodged onto it, and the spear replaced with a spare Hellblade from a Bloodcrusher. This is the thing I alluded to earlier that I think will make Reds quiver with rage.

It looks like a well executed conversion.
Even though there are supposedly no corrupt battle sisters, their pre-cursors; The Brides of the Emperor were 100% tainted in mind by Goge Vandire, and they all died in the assault on the Ecclesiarchal Palace, in the Second Siege of Terra, in M35.

Attachment DeletedSo I ended up going back in and pinning the sword's blade and hilt to Eumenstra's hand, as they kept breaking off (need to get some new superglue, as I think mine's gone bad). I also managed to salvage the dangly skull bit from Valkia's shield, and glued it to the underside of the barrel of her plasma pistol. I need to go in with liquid GS and bulk out the bit of the shaft of the spear that Valkia was originally holding in her left hand to make it blend with the Hellblade's hilt, and also to cover up a section where my pin vice drill hollowed it out to the point where the pin is showing through. A bunch of FW stuff arrived yesterday, and there should be another box coming, so I may have some more cool Chaos Marine stuff to share in coming days.

I don't think that they did. IIRC the leader of the Daughters was taken by the Custodes into the Chamber of the Emperor, and they had a chat, then she came out and executed Goge herself. Also, that new Daemon looks like a prime candidate for Angelic conversion to Celestine. Head swap, file down hooves so they look like boots, switch out weapons, and you're good to go.

Yeah, when I first saw Valkia the Bloody's mini in the WD from two or three weeks ago it piqued my interest, so when I went on GW's site and got a better look at it I immediately thought that she would be perfect for a fallen Battle Sister, as her armor is almost the same in terms of styling as the Sororitas' plate.

The pose is good, and while the boob plate is a bit excessive, I've seen a lot worse, it only really checks off one or two of the female armor bingo boxes, which for GW is pretty good. Is the scale for it the same as GW's other normal human sized minis?

|
Post by Trooper One-Nine-Seven-Four on Mar 21, 2015 14:01:56 GMT -5
Yeah, she's pretty much a normal sized human, aside from the lower legs being Beastmen legs, which if you're cutting them off to replace with non-mutant legs, shouldn't cause any trouble. The main sticking point will be her lower right arm, which has a giant Slaaneshi-licky shield molded on it. Being Finecast it can be trimmed away, and the arm shaped into something less chaotic, but it's a bit fussy.

kirsten ; The Doge? *Sniff, growl, arf, arf!* I don't think that they did. IIRC the leader of the Daughters was taken by the Custodes into the Chamber of the Emperor, and they had a chat, then she came out and executed Goge herself. Oh, yeah. Thanks for the correction. I think I read that story in the Daemonhunter codex.

I think I read that story in the Daemonhunter codex. Was it just before the Grey K-nigh-its sliced and diced a bunch of Sisters, bathed in their blood, and wore them as hats to WARD off "teh eeeeeeeeeeeeeeevul" whilst Sisters from another order had a gratuitous steamy shower scene with some female Tau? Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted Wait. What? Attachment DeletedAnyhoo, priming work has yet to be done because it's been too cold to spray outside. I have picked up another can of Mephy Red spray, though, so once the weather is good it will happen. I've also snaffled up another box of Bloodletters, Plaguebearers, and today I bought a Helbrute. I also snagged the new White Dwarf, and I so cannot wait to get my bloody hands on the Khorne Daemonkin codex.

I no longer have a desire to do all that sculpting work, because the new TGG kickstarter has a better option. Ascended Sister Erzebel Great Seraphim is something I have no choice but to get, and probably get Cosmic to paint.
