Thanks, Kirsten! Here's my Herald of Khorne: To get around the problem of the Herald's stance being wider than a 25mm base, since only Skulltaker gets to stand on a 40mm base, I mounted it on a piece of gravel that was super-glued to a 25mm base. However, using the rule that "a mini must be mounted on the same size base it came with" my Herald technically should be mounted on the large oval Valkyrie base, as that's what the kit it was scrounged from came with...

I'd make a joke about "And then they were regretted" but I just got 5 boxes of Space Marine stuff in the mail this week so I'm not one to talk.

I cracked open the boxes, and the detail on these kits is quite nice. My only complaint so far is that the Ironstrider's legs are single pieces, and in no way poseable, aside from the ability to use either leg on either side of the kit, without engaging in some major sugery...

I present to you the most insane conversion I've ever attempted: My interpretation of the Skull Cannon of Khorne. I've combined parts from the Throne/Skull Cannon of Khorne and the Forge/Maulerfiend kits, which I consider to be two of GW's worst models, and I'm pretty pleased with the result. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!

It reminds me of a 40k version of a remote controlled Godzilla toy I had when I was a kid. I mean that in a good way, since I loved that thing to death.
I do feel like the bloodletters detract pretty seriously from it, though, in their current position. Is there a way to put them on the head or back instead?
*Edit* Just thought of that thing trying to fight on an iceworld, with it's wheels sliding in all directions, like a dog on a linoleum floor, while yakety sax plays in the background. It only made me approve of this more.

Hey Trooper,
just finished browsing through this entire thread and I must say your Catachans are really well done. I also love all the extra bits and pieces going on in this thread, your rolling Khornedinoskullcannon mobile is awesome, but I must say your bitz box must be a converters wet dream, I would love to have the range of parts that you must have available to me.
looking forward to more. Cheers, Cuthbo

Thanks, all! When I initially conceived this idea, I was going to dispense with the Bloodletters altogether. Then, just as I was about to start the build, Codex Daemonkin dropped, and in it for the Skull Cannon it specifically stated that the Bloodletter crew were what gave it extra close combat attacks, or somesuch, so I felt compelled to put them on. My thoughts are that they use the chains connected to the cannons to yank/guide the rest of the construct and tell it where to go and kill things. Thanks go to kirsten for helping me figure out how to create the front wheels when I ran into a wall and was going to do something super-derpy. She is my muse for mechanized havoc. Hopefully the nice weather will hold and I'll be able to prime this monstrosity soon.

When I saw the first image above it I was hoping that it was a unicycle daemon with a mini-gun and surfing Bloodletter for flavor.

That's just madness...
As for the position of the bloodletters; it looks ok; the arms look solid enough for them to stand on but when the cannons start rotating its going to be like one of those funfair Rodeo bull machine rides.

Yeah, my idea is that as the arms rotate the Khorne symbols plugged into the cannons upon which the Bloodletters are surfing remain gyro stabilized/level, or somesuch, with the worky bits involved being lubricated by blood... Of course.

No precarious balancing on a rodeo bull machine? Seriously any enemy commander seeing your daemon engine could go completely mad just looking at it. It's an armoured 50' landshark on rollerblades

So I found these images today, and they seem relevant to your interests: I'm not sure if you'll think that they are awesome or heretical, but I'm just the messenger.

The Powerfistin' Powerfisty Robot of Powerfistiness wants to reach out and crush someone. Note: Neither the back-mounted flamer, nor the powerfists are glued on, and can be swapped out for the phosphor blasters. The head is also free to rotate within the neck-collar, and the back-mounted weapon can also pan from side to side, while the lower arms can rotate at the wrists.
