I would kinda make a hill with an emplacement on top where a few guardsmen sit with their lasguns ready pointing towards the front while a medic tends to some injured soldiers. I would make the hill kinda steep, and myddy with half burried guardsmen / chosen enemy alike, craters, some dead trees maybe. Make the emplacement detailed with wooden walls and lots of small cartridges lying around or empty lasgun clips , goddamn I could go on all day and now I too wanna make a diorama haha

you know what would be cool is a guardsmen standing on a pile of dead traitors. the guardsmen should be a sarget wiht chainsword [bloodied] and las pistol [out of ammo] and have him just standing on top with gore dripping off of him. cools
kinda got the idea from my games day conversion. a grot with a spear blood all over him standing on a pile of 7 dead Space marines ;D.
Cheers Dethklok

[glow=red,2,300]Sorry about my last post clicked wrong button.[/glow]
Continuing....all quite nervous and twitching with weapons, with a general/commissar waving them out of the armory!
I think it would be pretty cool
again sorry for the last post

How about a busted/imobilized Chimera transport with a huge hole torn open on one side and having the crew and some of the passangers stand around it and tend to the wounded and trying to repair the Chimera while some soldiers defend the position?

I tried one, I made a small rock hill made of pink foam and a ramp from the kit with oil drums and tank stoppers all around it with that pointy gate thing beside the hill on the side of the gate. On top of the hill there are little poles with chameoline and helmets and rifles scattered around, the large ammo crates were on the side of the hill with little holes dug into the sides of the hill that have grenades/ammo and stuff like that inside. Also, a good thing to do is make the models removable so that you can see them from all angles and get a good paint job on each.

forge world have a real nice fortified ruined chimera. You could use that as your centrepiece and have a few guardsmen inside defending it against orks or nids

lol cool, and cool idea psycho, what you could do is drill base sized holes in your diorama so you can remove the models if you wish.

hmmmmm........sounds good yet exspensive lol wat race shud my guys be losing to? ads ??you mean you are going to model the IG loosing ?I like the idea of a triumphant sgt on a pile of traitors.I do a few small ones with my hvy weapons teams. One hvy bolter team is on the side of the road, i modeled the road and them being half on it and half on the sidewalk/rubble.I was thinking about making a sniper in a ruined building leaning out a window with a licter or tau stealth suit sneaking up on him...
