Eli looks at the Watch Master, then snorts and headbutts the bugger hard enough to make a point, but not hard enough to break anything.
Starting to walk away, he looked over his shoulder and smirked, "Prolly will. But don't worry, I'm...putting it to bettah use. Got a problem with that boy?"
Eli wasn't one to take orders from rich little prisses, especially ones who didn't realize he might be the only person in this poor excuse of a group of killers who could sew his sorry ass back together. Oh well, maybe he'd just let the greenies eat his sorry ass and be done with it.
Either way, he wasn't gonna let this idjit get him killed.

Alex had to admit that hit put him back. This disgusting poor excuse for a soldier was getting on his nerves. "Insubordination ha." Alex gripped his lasgun and rapped it into the soldiers back. Knocking him to the floor. Pointing the gun to the back of his head. "Next time you do something like that I'll put a las round into you." He was determined but hesitated, then he looked up seeing this new trooper come into view. Before he said anything he put one last kick into Eli, just for good measure. "Name, rank and serial number." He yelled to this new comer.
But with this distraction he forgot about Eli and this could of been a daring mistake.

Hardridge let a smile cross his face. "finally i found somebody" he thought,
"Hardridge, Trooper serial X564939 reporting" Hardridge said as he looks at the sergeant who addressed them, while what appeared to be the sergeant and saluted. As he turned he noticed the ganger on the ground, unease sightly descends on hardridge's heart the fact this isn't going to be the best unit to meet worries him. hardridges looks at the Sergeant and awaits his orders

OOC: Nice to see another Queensland on the forum, twerd
IC: Alex stepped away from Eli and glared at him. Then he looked at the newcomer "Um, well Hardridge orders are to report to a defensive strong point about a mile in and set up and await further instructions. Oh and welcome to the squad." As he extended his hand. "Its about another 10 minutes away. so we got a bit of a walk ahead."

Hardridge looked around at the fireteam, the sergeant one those posh types, the ganger with the heavy stubber, a drop trooper with an autogun then he noticed the flamer held by cilivian, how Hardridge liked flamers he always considered the art of them, how the flame leapt out and touched the enemy, the enemy burning his clothes then skin , flesh, the screams how fire danced from part of the world to another burning, constanly burning turning everything to ashes. Hardridge had always wanted to wield one though due to a mistake he made he was baned from them. Falling in behind the flamer armed cilivian he felt safer if there are orks being behind a flamer would save his life that or being the guy using it for that matter.... he's stomach growled. "oh right i'm starving to death" thought hardridge

Shocked by the sudden display of violence by Eli and Alex, Eric regarded the newcomer.
Hardridge appeared to Eric bedraggled and unkempt, a look of weariness in his eyes. However, Eric was glad that there was another trained troop in the unit, his own combat skills being untested and unproven.
Eric was dreading encountering an ork, as all he knew of them came from stories and hearsay. He was sure that he would just freeze or run, yet he knew what happens when you do either of those in combat. You end up just a memory.
Eric tries to stay near the middle of the squad, feeling safer with others taking the lead and bringing up the rear.
Edit: Eric heard Hardridge's stomach from behind him. Digging into his pockets he found a half eaten protein bar. He tossed it to Hardridge.
"Here. It's not much but you look like you need it."
He saw something in his eyes. He could not put his finger on it but the way he looked at the broken flamer seemed a bit odd.

Taking the Protein bar from eric "thanks you have no idea what's it's like out there in no mans land thought i was gonna starve to death, Here take this it's some fuel i found could be useful for that flamer of yours" hardridge handsover the cantean with the fuel, noticing the nervous eyes of his new compain hardridges leans over and lowers his voice "You not gonna run when there's a fight you've got a flamer, that thing well save us when the greeenskins come you'll wash them down, so no worries okay, Beside you're with us guard that means your safe ..." looks around him "well safer at any rate"

"Heheheheheheheh..." laughed Eli, getting to his feet. This little priss amused him, pulling a vicious looking knife from its sheath, he slowly runs a finger over the edge, drawing blood. He would deal with the watch master later, and he'd sealed it in blood.
Putting the knife back, he picks a spot in line, and starts walking, the Stubber still slung over his shoulder.

Eric takes the fuel canteen.
"Heh, I just took this thing cos it was better than leaving it in a scrap heap. I think if I tried to fire it, it would probably explode."
Eric looks into the shadows.
"I'm thinking that there may be a point where exploding looks like a good idea though."

Looks at eric and shakes head, poor guy's more crazy than what i'm meant to be, Hardridge sighs and switches he's bionic eye to the shadows "Don't worry there's nothing there he comforts eric" Although in reality Hardridge was no wiser what was there in first place the bionic eye wasn't working right he knew the images he saw were no better than eric's just with a background of heat red coming from everywher in this stufy cavern. Hardridge rubs the scars that intersected his eye and checked he's powercell which shown at the half way point.

Alexander fell back along the line of the squad and looked around. He listened in on the squads conversations. The new guy and Eric were hitting it off pretty well, or Hardridge just wants to hold that damaged flamer. The walk was going well except for the skirmish with Eli, Alex would keep his eyes on him.
"Were almost nearing the objective, I think I can see the shadow of their commanding officer or one of his squad. I'll go and speak to their CO and receive our orders. While I'm gone Schrueder your in command."
"just be on your toes." he added with a tint of nervousness "You know just in case."

Eric was glad to have Hardridge and his bionic eye along, no doubt he could see everything around them with such a useful device. Eric had come close to needing one himself when he was doing some hands on work for a rather demanding client back in Hades. A heating pipe had ruptured as he was inspecting it, and was it not for him dropping a spanner on his foot he would have got a blast of scalding steam in his face.
Eric unsholders his lasrifle as the watchmaster walks away, gripping it tightly in his hands. As he does so the power pack falls out onto the ground, clattering loudly. Eric swiftly picks it up and slams it back into place, hoping that no one had noticed his error.

OOC: Nice to see another Queensland on the forum, twerd OOC: That makes 3 of us! Haha. Also Celia is the name of his Machete. Also no offense to you jarms I just like this kind of idea. IC: "Yes, sir!" Schrueder snapped to attention and gave the Watch Master a stiff salute. "All right men, I want an all-round defense going! That means you all get into a circle, on your faces in the dirt and face outward. Now, before I put you on the ground myself!" Schrueder proceeded to walk around the circle, arranging the other members of the squad correctly, ensuring that they had a 360 degree area covered. "No Eric, as the Special Weapon holder you're in the 6 o'clock position. Hardridge! Since you and Eric are so good at communicating with eachother I'm making you part of his fireteam! You're there to back him up, take his orders and take over that flamer if he dies, understand? Good. Now get over there and tell him I said so." Schrueder moved to Eli, who was next along. He approached cautiosly, as like every other squad member he had seen the confrontation between him and the Watch Master. 'If I was in charge, I would have cut that mans head off with my darling Celia.' He was then struck by a second thought. 'As second in charge I would naturally be next in line if Alexander was killed. Maybe I should speed up the process of natural selection. I'm sure a lot more of us will die before he does, if he continues to make mistakes. It would be for the good of the squad. I'll need some help with this though, and this crazy ganger fool seems like the type. But I'll have to be careful dealing with him.' Schrueder looked down on at Eli. "Get up trooper, the Heavy weapon goes in the 12 o'clock position. Also as second-in-command of this sorry ass excuse for a squad that makes me in charge of you and your stubber. So you'll do what I say and I'll try to keep both of us alive longer than Alexander ok?" Lowering his voice, until only Eli could hear him, Schrueder continued,"Maybe with some luck and a little... persuasion...we might be able to encourage a series of events which leads to his removal of command, my promotion to squad leader, and your subsequent promotion as my second-in-command. Understand what I'm proposing here?" said Schrueder, holding out his hand to help the man up. SaN

Eric looks up from the dirt at the mention of his name. A wave of suprise washes over him.
"Say that again Corporal? You want me to actually try to use this thing? I don't think that it'll even work without at least some tape and something to clear the barrel. Look, there is a massive gash in the feeder hose and the barrel is warped to all hell. I'll try my best but I ain't firing it unless things get desperate."
With that he ripped the sleeve off his shirt and tied it round the hose. It would mostly stop it from leaking but would become soaked with fuel and he would have to keep it away from ignition. He then looked down the barrel and tried to blow out most of the filth. Not happy, but getting the feeling that questioning Scrueder too much would be bad for his health, he filled up one of the tanks with fuel but kept the fuel lines valve shut for safety.
He glanced back at the corporal, regarding the man with a sum of fear mixed with doubt. If he was ordered to fire the damn thing they would probably all be set aflame. Eric hoped that the watchmaster wouldn't be too long.

Hardridge looks over at the cpl. Schrueder he looked like the man that wanted to run the show, seemed like a glory hound too sure the watchmaster was stuck-up but hardrigde would of prefered the ganger out of all them to be issueing orders. Probaly becuase he had the home ground advantage switching over to Eric who still seemed as green, nervous and worried as he'd last seen decide to try and reassure him.
"don't wory about the gash's and warps on that flamer, these beautiful thngs rely on pressure to force the fuel out the other end if you not have enough the fuel won't ignite and if you do well let her rip and you'll be laughing, so it's going to nothing at all or burn with emporer's vengance see safe as sound" smiling hardridge thpought he done a good job but the looked at eric's eye told him different "oh if nothing happens ill be firing me lassy here" tapping the lasgun and loading in a fresh clip and showing it to Eric see safe and sound"

Eli stared quizically at the second in command, letting everything sink in. He knew and understood everything the Corporal was talking about, but he also knew the implications of it. Schrueder was someone he didn't know, and by his unwritten laws, was just as likely to kill him as he was to give him the promotion. However, the Corporal was offering something Eli wasn't entirely interested in, but then, neither was discord in the ranks.
He pondered on this for a moment and finally came to a decision, he just wasn't going to voice it until he had to.
Sticking the barrel of the stubber into the crease between the neck and jaw under the corporal's chin, Eli grinned a yellow toothed grin, "Well see," he said, walking off.

Eric felt a bit better after Hardridge's attempt to alleviate his fears. Still, the flamer seemed cursed to him, it really hadn't helped the last guy who had used it. He wiped off a patch of blood he had missed earlier.
"Thanks Hardridge, I suppose we just shall see what happens."

Schrueder stumbled back a pace under the blow of the stubber, but quickly regained his balance. He spat out blood and what was probably a tooth, and his temper flaired. He took two quick steps and swung his fist into the side of the gangers head, sending him crashing to the ground.
"Ganger Scum! I've given you your chance and you missed it! Now I'm not going to kill you like you so rightly deserve, only because we need more men. But come at me again and I'll see you finished, you hear?"

OOC: Well just waiting on the GM's update to tell us what we are doing next. After I know our new orders I will continue to write.
IC: Alex returned from his talk with their areas current commander. The orders were all garbled and messed up. Vox communication was near impossible in these areas lower areas of the hive city. The only possible communication option available was a land line connection and judging by all the field reports coming through. It could be hours before the rag tag squad received their orders.
Alex looked around at his squad all in a large circle in the center of the room. Then he saw Schrueder knocking Eli to the ground. "Well the enemy of my enemy." Alex slung his rifle over his back and pointed at Schrueder "I don't care what you were doing, stand down. He's mine, we need every soldier we can get even if he is ganger scum." He looked at the rest of the squad. "No offense. Now it seems comms are slow to arrive today. So current orders are to take up defensive positions and await for next instruction."
He looked at Schrueder again and commented "I don't think splitting up the squad and posting them to watch the wall is not your greatest idea. We will split the squad with 5 troopers guarding the access way were we came in and Me and the rest will guard the main enterence passage. Schrueder your in command of that force and since you and Eli are doing so well he's going with you. Alex pointed to 3 other troopers and sent them away with Schrueder. Hardridge, Eric and the rest your with me, now lets MOVE."

OOC: I thought the tunnel was massive wide. Thats why I set them ep in a circle. An all-round-defense is actually a proper military defensive setup.
IC: Grudgingly Schrueder removed his hand from the handle of Celia. He turned to the Watch Master and stood to attention, saluting when he was given his orders. He turned and marched off, without saying a word, to a position further down the tunnel, with the rest of the squad behind him.

OOC: Yes but aren't we in the middle of another guard outpost, receiving our next set of orders, so I assume that we will reinforce key positions and allow the other guardsmen to defend the other, if any entrances.
IC: As the squads members drifted apart alex drew closer to his remaining squad members.
"Eric, Hardridge's I feel I can trust you more than that Schrueder and Eli. Now I am asking a favor of you not an order favor, keep an eye on those two, I feel that Schrueder will stab me in the back first chance he gets as he was looked over for command and Eli...I...I just assume the worst." And with that being said Alex toned down and walked silently in the rear of the squad.

Hardridge nods to you Watchmaster "will do sir" nothing wrong with keeping in his good books and Hardridge knew the petty squably would end once they found their first orks. As they walked towards the main entrance with Eric and the Watchmaster, Hardridge grabed some spare food and supplies from a nearby supply station (asumming where in guard post). Hardridge had the distinct feeling he was forgeting somthing, somthing that had happen or didn't.

Eli didn't really flinch when he was hit. He used to regularly box a graftee named Apollo in his gang. A man who's arms were bigger than the average greenies at that. However, it still amused him that these people were already plotting to kill and replace one another, and they'd only been together for a matter of hours. Hell, in the Hive, you had to work together or die, with the weak only being removed as necessary. But then, Hivers had a weird sense of honor that these toy soldiers would never really understand.
So, he went with his "commander" to take up position with the stubber, and scanned the area thoroughly. One did not last long in the Underhive without a keen sense of paranoia...

Eric was hardly listening as the watchmaster spoke to him, he was remembering a day long ago.
---
The day started as they usually did, with him waking up next to his wife. It was a rest day and he had been looking forward to it for months. Today was an opportunity too good to pass up. He had been working for one of the major guild leaders in Hades, replacing the atmospheric systems inside his private residence. Whilst the work was being carried out, the client was on a trade tour of a few other hives; the place would be deserted.
Eric gathered supplies for the day, packing food and a few other items. As he did this his wife readied the children. His family ready, they proceeded to the service elevator that Eric used to access the suite he was working on. Through careful planning he had given the workers the day off and bribed the guard to be somewhere else for a few hours. However he was sure that the day would be worth both the trouble and the risk.
As he got off the lift Eric was nervous, he could be imprisioned for trying to do what he was. Hurrying his family through corridors he was always looking over his shoulder. Once at the door he quickly used his access key, and directed the children towards a door in the back.
The door opened and sunlight hit their faces for the first time. He would always remember the look of wonderment he saw in their eyes as the warmth covered them. Before them stretched the vastness of Armageddon, the only time they would ever see it.
---
"Will do sir."
Eric heard Hardridge and blinked away a tear, his attention suddenly brought back to the present.
"Sure will Sir." Eric agreed blindly, not knowing what had been said but fearful of a beating if he was suspected of incompetence. It seemed that violence was something that just happened with these people.
The squad was gathering and grabbing what they could. Eric hastily grabbed some nutrislush pouches and a few spare rags. He stuffed these in his pockets and tied a rag around his lasrifle to stop the energycell falling out. He realised that he had never even fired the thing. Taking his knife out he tested the fit to the barrel. Thankfully it fitted perfectly, clicking into position like a dream. At least he wouldn't be totally defenceless should the flamer or the rifle fail to fire.
Keeping the flamer slung on his back he sholdered the rifle and followed the others.

Alex put another shot down range. He fired well timed, accurate shots one into the arm holding the ranged weapon and another into the blasted orks head. They came from nowhere, it was all quite for a time just as Alex liked it. Then all he heard was a faint noise in the background. Apparently the guardsmen here layed tin cans along the tunnel to detect intruders. The noise came from the 500 meter post. Then a search light lit the tunnel and what reflected wasn't welcoming. A sea of bright red eyes, running and screaming down the long corridor.
The guardsmen stationed at the entrance sprang to life running behind makeshift barricades and taking up firing positions. Several Sergeants took the ultimate sanction and shot several fleeing soldiers. "Cowards, the emperor will have you damned, you will fight or you will die." The sentence repeated tenfold, Alex, Eric, Hardridge and the remains of the split squad took up positions and added their extra weight to the fight. "Eric prep that flamethrower, when those orks get close, give them hell. Not one step closer than this barricade get it!" Bellowed Alex and with that Alex let lose shot after shot.
