I've been thinking long and hard about what to theme the next GG competition as, and can't decide!
I've narrowed it down to a few options, so I put it to YOU to make the final decision!
You have 7 days...... GO! ;D

I voted for a Chimera, but just because I have a chimera that is ready to paint. Stormtroopers would be cool as well. In the future, maybe we could do an IG Objective marker contest, that'd be pretty nice.

The last one was a heavy infantry model (Terminator), so I'd suggest a vehicle this year for a change. I've voted for a Valkyrie (should be Valkyrie/Vendetta by the way) because I'll be building an air cav force ;D Besides, the Valk base looks wonderful, and should allow all types of painters to express their talent: - freehanders have lots of panels to create artwork (wings, nose art, etc.) - you can paint the inside of the craft as well - lots of surface for different weathering effects
I second the IG objective marker for next year ^^

Yeah, should have put Vendetta on there, silly me! If we end up doing that then I think we can sneak in Vendettas, maybe Vulture gunships too for the FW nuts.....

Something that isn't there - a conversion! Anything that GW doesn't actually make, but that YOU want to make and are willing to kitbash to get.

I voted for stormtroopers, just because I have some ready on hand.
But I think specialist games should be ruled out. Some people may not have anything other than Warhammer 40k and have no intention of aquiring any.

Conversions aren't out at all, simply make your own >insert model from catergory here< and paint it, then submit it. Ignatius: If you don't want to do specialist games models, don't vote for it vegna: I only put this up yesterday, up untill then I had way too much to do to even think about doing anything. That and since there was only one other entry other than my own last time, I didn't see the need to rush into another one. It wasn't as if I was inundated with entries or requests for more.... Aaaanyway, it's looking pretty close between three of the catergories, with two others trailing behind. Although I'm not telling you which ner ner n-ner ner!

lol well last time it was a bit specialist. Not seen many snow style armies on here. But im plannign to paint my newest officer so gave me a reason to take pics Aso by tanks, do baneblades/ all other versions count?

Hmmm, I suppose 'other versions' could count, super heavies might have to get their own slot though as I imagine the effort to paint one would be more than a standard russ.
What exactly do you mean by 'other versions'? Do you mean Executioners and the like or, Macharius/Malcador heavy tanks?

ment all the others like the Hellhammer, shadowsword, storm lord, etc. And would take more time, tho dunno if more effort. there's less lil bits and small gaps for me

The best idea would simply be a vehicle. Given the lack of entries into the last contest, I'd say it is advisable to keep things as broad as possible.

Just to give people scope to really go to town on delicate details, while still having a broad range, have you considered a character painting GG? No special characters, though conversion work accepted (so you could use a special character as the basis)

^^^ An ace idea! That way people could do whatever type of unit they wanted, but with loads of creativity and interest ;D

Hmmmm this is a good idea..... although as quite a few votes have been submitted already, I think that 'characters' would be a good idea. Personally, I think non-imperial special characters would be a bit more interesting, as it would force entrants to pick something other than the ones we know and love.
The option of making your own character though? Now thats a corker. Although Scarper already has a 50+ model head start on us all already, it'd be cool to see what everyone came up with. We could even have a bit of background fluff attached with each entry.....

What's that you say? A vested interest in this being a "design-your-own-non-imperial-character" competition, preferably with fluff? Slander! Looking forward to the results!

If there's already alot of votes cast for GGIV, make GGV the character one...
The added fluff sounds like a really groovy idea too - just a short blurb (a paragraph or two maybe?).
I may even have time to enter this time as my evening course is completed...

Excellent! And the winner is: Kasrkin/Stormtroopers! (Or, of course, 'counts as' equivalents, because we love conversions, don't we?)

Can I get hold of some Kasrkin in time?... hmmm... Now I think it's a shame I painted up and posted my "new" "Storm Trooper" sergeant... don't suppose I can get away with entering her (into the competition, you dirty minded people! )
