I wish I could take heavy stubbers in my valk/vendetta sponsons instead of the heavy bolters. That would be nice.

Yes it would. In fact, I would pay 15-20pts for the privilege.

I would pay 15-20 pts for each sponson to do it!

There are quite a few str4 weapons I would love to add to vehicles though. Pintle flamers, sponson stubbers on russes, reintroduce frag auto launchers.
Ah well, can't have everything. I do think that stubbers on a valk would make much more sense though. It is like they originally were stubbers and someone thought "Stubbers are rubbish, make them heavy bolters. People love heavy bolters."

I took a look at that bolter and said to myself "that could be heavier".

I think there should be 2 more Twin linked Las Cannons on my Vendetta.

You can never have too many twin linked lascannon. Twenty should take out most things.

I want heavy stubbers in squads. Agreed. They would be a great cheap upgrade. OT, that would indeed be very nice. I would definitely spring a valk then UG

I've been thinking of converting an Arvus; if you field them using the Chaos army in Imperial Armour Volume IX, they can be armed with heavy stubbers.

Arvus are nice, if fragile. I like how you can buy squadrons of them, yet they don't actually act as squadrons. Infact that whole badab list is pretty good, using guard as cover was a nice touch.
I love the look of an aquilla lander, those vectored engines are awesome. However, after reading Blood and Iron, I fancy a lightning with missiles.

Yeah, I'd like to see stubbers on valks too. Then you could fly fast and shoot stuff...Yay!

Now you can just do it without the bolters (rocket pods count as defensive! \m/^_^\m/ ).

would be better I'd agree with the defensive weapons, able to act in a defensive role. You just need to add to 6th edition a note that "defensive" weapons can fire at different targets (even if they get say -1 to hit will doing it), now the defensive guns can fire at threatening infantry, while the cannons fire at that tank over yonder. Otherwise I'd only put them on a troop hunter anyway

sorry if this is threadnomancy...
Was thinking storm bolters would be a good proxy for the heavy bolters, since the valks are short ranged with their MRP's anyway and the models look bolterish anyway (being bolters n all)... I might suggest it to may gaming group... though Valks are already very very very good for their cost so may be pushing them too far... (I'd just like to fire them once in a game since I modelled them!)
