The bases are looking terrific. So you prefer to do the bases seperately these days?

Cheers Chem! Yeah, since I started painting my BA I prefer to do the bases seperately. You see, I like to base the miniatures before I undercoat them. This makes the material extra sturdy so that pebbles won't start flying off when I begin drybrushing. Also, I am using an airbrush to paint the little guys. This means that the base is going to be painted red and I will have to repaint it all over again. This can be time consuming and kinda frustrating to me. Furthermore I am a big fan of gluing the model on it's base after both are done. This gives the impression that the miniature is actually standing on the ground instead of sinking into it.

Antipope, what did it run you to get an airbrush setup with basically everything you need to hit minis on a day-to-day basis?

Sorry, no, what I meant is money, outlay of cash to get a setup and also time to learn how to use it enough to trust you weren't going to ruin anything with it

For the air compressor + the airbrush I spend 350 euros. Now, I don't think I made the right purchase since I am not very happy with both products. The aibrush is a syphon fedd Badger and I could have gotten a nice gravity feed Iwata with the same amount of money. My air compressor keeps shutting of after a bit of use and that's a major pain in the butt.
I did practise on paper a lot at the beginning until I got the hang of it. Things you need to get familiar with is how much to dilute the paint, how much airpressure to use and keep the airbursh moving at the right angle all the time. It's not easy to do but there is a very steep learning curve to it I think. I still make mistakes but now I am fairly comfortable with airbrushing. Hope this answers your question.

antipope, the airbrush is my holy grail! I have an Badger spirit gravity feed and bottom feed, the compressor is I think Model MArster masterclass or something. That compressor is amazing! You should check in the internet (if I gave you the right name). ;D
