Did you know I'd be the first to look? Looks fantastic and therefore I'm not too disappointed there's no Tanith

What's your secret to getting the Standard to look so crisp? I hate painting Standards.

What's your secret to getting the Standard to look so crisp? I hate painting Standards. You're not alone! I've always hated Banners too. Basically you need a good colourscheme and plenty of washes. My new one is basically based around Black, Grey and White as you can see. This means a Black Wash is naturally perfect as it shades all of the colours. My old style of Banner had Red and White, therefore a Red Wash on the trim would seep over into the White and stain it, something you don't want. It's hard to explain.....but I hope that helps a little!

Valkyrie: WIPAs you can now see I have started on the Valk so hopefully it'll get finished this week. I'm streaking the rust and grime to show a level of movement to the model, once it's all done it should look pretty good. Cosmic

If you get a reaver then I'm going to have to bring my Super-Heavy Ork horde to yours and go Apoc!
Might have to make a Southern UK Meet Up for all those who dwell in the warmer sunnier more expensive part of the world (where a pint of beer by the sea can cost £4.50 easily!).
Amazing stuff as always.. though I do think your standard bearer is rubbish.
..
..yeah right!... truely inspiring stuff mate!.. keep 'em coming!

Please excuse me.... My underwear just got filled at the mention of a second titan thread.... *runs to underwear draw* Well if I do get a get a Reaver then you better stock up on adult nappies too Cheers Emptyhat Sounds a plan! Southern meet up would be amazing too Summer perhaps? And thank you very much.
I've been working on the Valk non-stop all day today so here's where I am at this very moment..... I've managed to make the painting process quicker by changing my scheme a little. In the past on vehicles I would paint them Grey, then Black wash, and then go back over in Grey to tidy each individual panel up, then highlight. With the Valk I'm just basecoating Grey, then washing just the recesses with Black, and then highlighting. It has really saved time and has given it a very worn look. Also, keep an eye on the Golden Guardsmen. My entry is themed on this Army and I think you may like it Cosmic

Another question for you, Cosmic, To get the streaking rust effect, do you use white spirit (I think that's what it's called) Or do you just do a very very light drybrushing?

The rust is this stuff..... www.creativemodels.co.uk/ak_interactive_rust_streaks_-p-22218.htmlYou're supposed to do the streaks by hand and then 'stump' them with White spirit. However for the Valk all I did was place dots of the Rust where I wanted it, and then used a sponge to quickly streak it along the surface

Is making some of your weathering detail as easy as using a sponge?!? Don't know why I never thought of doing that. The valk looks amazing man. Might have you paint some stuff for me sometime if the price is right haha. Real great stuff.

Might have you paint some stuff for me sometime if the price is right haha. Real great stuff. Yup it's all done with a sponge. I just sponge te black on randomly, once that's fully dry, I then use the sponge to streak some more black across Haha well the price will be right I can promise you that just drop me a PM sometime if you want. Thank you Cheers Shostak . There'll be another update tomorrow night hopefully.
