Hi everyone I'm back, and this time with no Space Marines!! As per usual I got bored with my current project and wanted something new to paint. So I popped into town, bought some Sull White spray, a 5 man push fit box of Cadians, and a 5 man box of push fit Eldar. I didn't want to spend too much on a whole squad because I knew I would get bored very easily, so I bought the 2 different boxes because they were cheap, and I can easily churn out 5 at a time. First the Imperial Guard. I wanted a simple and quick scheme like my Space Marines commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=picpost&action=display&thread=11885&page=3So just using the White spray as a main colour I came up with this...... I'm very happy with it and he's almost finished, just the battle damage, the base and a few more touch-ups. The Eldar I mentioned will be painted up after these 5, so keep and eye out on here and my blog... spanielspainting.blogspot.com/C&C Appreciated Daniel

Intriguing...
It actually looks like this may be a way of making white spray have a use... How did you do the material? Is it just a wash, or more? (looks like more...)

I really don't understand how people find doing white difficult when there is a White Spray that pretty much does it for you.
The material was Kommando Khaki painted lightly over the white basecoat, then a wash of Gryphonne Sepia, next a layer of Bleached Bone over the raised areas, and finally a pure Skull White highlight.

Looking good! I agree with you about white primer. I use it on most of my minis, except for large parts that are going to be painted in metallic colors, in which case I will prime the piece separately with black primer.

Awesomesauce... Just pure awesomesauce. I think that these are some of the best plastic Cadians that I have ever seen.

Thanks Trooper glad you all like them... I have good news and bad news..... The good news! I bought a box of Cadian's today and all 10 are made and primed..... The bad news is that I won't be able to paint them for at least another week *looks down at the floor in sadness*. But if you're lucky I might get a couple at least blocked in tonight. Daniel

Everyone loves double posts ... Sergeant and Comms Plasma and Flamer Lasguns Paints are blocked in, so not too much left really, they're quite easy to batch paint. Daniel

Glad you all like them And I have a little treat for you all... The Sergeant is taking shape after about 15 mins of work. Just need to touch-up the tunic, finish the face, base and some final last details. Feedback is as usual appreciated, Daniel

And hhhheeeeeeerrrrrrreeeeeee they are..... As you may be able to tell I have the bases left to do and some final details, but they're basically done. I've ordered a Sentinel which should be here this week, so I guess I can safely say that this WILL turn into a Guard Army Daniel

Sorry for the late reply Major, the Faces are VERY simple, something I've never tried before.
1- Very watered down Bestial Brown wash 2- Either Badab Black, Gryphonne Sepia or Baal Red wash.
And that's it! And then I just do the eyes as normal.
