ah hahaha Genius lol yeah ok hahahaha..........ANY WAY! Well i wanted it to look rediculesly big because it would stand out more i thought. Putting the liguid in that "glass" was bloody hard, It took me a good 20 minutes and me getting angry at it hahaha |

Vostroyans, if only the model range would be more flexible with the weapon choices....ahh...for me they win over Krieg.

Well I like more the whole Firstborn thing and really highly ornated uniforms. Krieg are THE Imperial Guard, nameless, faceless and loyal to the bitter end but the Vostroyans outclass them in weapon craftmanship, doctrine, uniforms, status and influence. Long story short, the Krieg get the job done while the Vostroyans are the ones to be praised, and also their miniatures have a dinstinct, slavic/cossack feeling that I simply adore.

Commissar Kalan That brought a tear to my eye, Plus I some what agree with you on most of what you said apart from i prefer the Kreig models, I think they look a lot cooler.

I've lusted over using Vostroyans as "Spetnaz" (hardened vets) for my Valhallans but man, getting my hands on a unit plus 3 melta Volstroyans has been a bit... daunting.

A player in my gameclub has made a Vostroyan army of 2000 points all in white and red like the elites of the tzar army. It looks fantastic but he is penalized by the WYSWYG rules in our club so he hardly can proxy, or he can do so only in friendly games. Cant help I stumbled in a nest of geeky powerplayers to play with.
Dont misunderstand me I LOVE Death Korps of Krieg, it is their doctrine and fluff that convinced me to wear the flak jacked instead of power armour, their miniatures are very detailed and nice but they don't have the feel of a trully elite and important regiment, they are just cannonfodder for their commanders while the Vostroyans are pehaps the best equipped and more influent regiment of the Imperial Guard, second only to Cadia. Still I will be tuned for more pictures and fluff, now get there and start painting, we want moooore, MOOORE!

Question: Have you tailored the army list to include the range of the models aviable (no autocannons, no meltas) or you intend to proxy a lot?
Day by day I am more convinced to slowly start to collect Vostroyans but the army list is my major problem since my geeky friends demand WYSWYG with FW or GW models only.

Well my Vosties are apart of my Apoc army ( artillary ) but ive been thinking of making them an actual 2500 point army. Yes I would proxy meltas and autocannons See my friends are relaxed on the WYSWYG becacause i know they will proxy stuff to, you need to find someone eles who can do that too. Rather than proxying autocannons, you could just use cadian ones with vostroyans crewing them.
