Welcome to my WIP of Fallout 3 inspired wargaming. In the background are ruins I've spent lazy days this summer cobbling together. They are made according to what we old timers got to learn in WH40K early rule books. So on to the pics. ......... This is Doc Vacation with his trusty handgun "The Mojito". Doc is considered by many the most relaxed gunslinger to ever walk out of the Mojave. ........ Meet Kachiko-Sue, a born and raised Texas girl. She is skilled with her revolver but she prefers slicing her enemies up with the family heirloom. ....... Tribal girl has been with the gang for a short while. She is obnoxius and constantly picking fights. When she's drunk she keeps bragging about being descendandt to some Vault dweller. She even has his canteen. Then again she is cute and a good with the gun, so Doc says she gets to stay. ....... This is the gang posing in front of their latest prize. Two functional Nuka-Cola dispensers. ........ Some enemy gangs posing.

Fallout 3 is always an excellent theme for a planet in Warhammer 40k you know. Where great powerful empires on one planet fight until Nuclear Armageddon and now the survivors are fighting to survive. The planet has now been classed by the Imperium as a "Feral World" for this reason and the population are normally considered as barbaric and vicious, being great Imperial Guardsmen and Space Marine material for the Imperium to draft. I know this may not be what you intended for your wargaming, but it's always a good theme, so great work there. I can't wait to see more.

Great models and great theme in my opinion. I especially like that wrecked car terrain piece, I've almost come to associate wrecked old cars with Fallout 3 whenever i see them. No miniature atomic explosions if you shoot up a '57 Bel Air or whatever in real life, but a man can dream.
As far as NCR go I think the Anzacs make for better figures. Assuming your NCR are in the Mojave they look more suited to it than the US ones. The M113 will look great with some NCR iconography on the sides.
Keep going, I'm very keen to see more.

cogride: Thank you. The wrecked car is from ainsty casting. All terrain pieces I have gotten from them have been well made and worth the prise. @dave: Ok, they would make good veteran rangers.

Just picked a box of these guys up to stand in for Grenadiers until I can afford Death Korps grenadiers. May use them for a Renegade army later on down the road. Quality isnt great, but 18 figures for 20 bucks you cant beat them. The arms are a bit gangly and the necks need some severe trimming (they look giraffe like if you don't). but all in all they were worth every penny I will be posting pics of sprue and painted soon

@kriegeirk: Is it easy to put Cadian arms and head on those? And is it easy to put those arms and heads upon Cadians?

@kriegeirk: Is it easy to put Cadian arms and head on those? And is it easy to put those arms and heads upon Cadians? The necks may need some trimming on both accounts, but I don't forsee you having an issue. Reds actually suggested to me swapping Cadian arms on them, but i do not have any Cadians to do so so I was stuck with what was in the box. If I remember correctly Reds said he swapped the arms and they worked better. The arms included are a bit odd looking if you're looking close. Other than that you should have no problem swapping arms and heads.

So time for a small update. These mercenarys started their career within NCR armed forces. They still use their helmets. But they have ditched the uniform in favour for som Combat Armour. One is specialized on heavy weapons while the other is a urban specialist. The reasons for making these minis where to try them out. This will make it cheaper making NCR troopers, but it will take away Cadians from my WH40K company and I am not sure I like that. So I´ll see witch way I´ll go. ............................ This is the close combat specialist. He is made of a Cadian body with a Empire state trooper head. The shotgun is from Uriah Heep...sorry Jacobs. The dagger is from a Empire milita hand. This bad boy uses body and heads as above. The M60 is from Wargames Foundry.

I must say, I love what you're doing here. Would be interested if you were making any special rules here, or following others (and if so, which). I especially like your NCR troopers, very good.
Though, I must say, I've seen a lot of references to the Mojave and NCR. That's Fallout:NV. Fallout 3 was in the Capital Wasteland, with only a few obscure references to the NCR.
To end on a high, I must make a request. BoS! I can't even begin to imagine how to make those badboys! (or girls, depending on who's hiding within the suit)

I am aware of the difference between Fallout3 and Fallout NV. But the work started with ruins so Fallout 3 became more natural to me. Besides I do consider Fallout NV to be Fallout 3.5
Thank you, for your input. The BoS is a nut to crack, but I am not without ideas.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across aggressively, I just differentiate between the two so heavily since I was rather disappointed by NV. And I'm a bit of stickler for the lore, (far too many late nights pouring through websites and playing the games I'm afaid.) But yeah, BoS and they're power armour are, by far, my favourite aspects. You almost want terminator armour, for a guardsman! Nothus

No worries, I didn´t even reflect that you came out aggressively. I just responded to what I thought was a good comment. No hard feelings.

@chem: Thank you. Did you check out my terrain thread? vegna: That is a good idea. I will need to find some more undressed zombies though. Everyone knows ghouls like to strut around more or less naked.

Can't go wrong with Fallout, perhaps you can figure out a way to do vehicles reminiscent of Fallout Tactics.

I require pictorial updates, MGK. Like... now. Since I haven´t really made something new, I hope this is good enough. (Perhaps it is time to go out and take some pic of the new terrain I´ve been experimenting with). Obscura: I was thinking about a set of toy cars that I have seen. They are from the movie "Cars".
