I haven't played a proper game since I was about 13 so I have no clue what to do! But just a big battle sounds good, all out 'kill the lot of them!'
Some smaller skirmishes sounds good too though.

Cosmic2157 I've only ever played one skirmish But still just think specific objectives can be used just to add to the fluff. I'm like that lol.

Tempest is pretty much a skirmish game, but instead of playing out like something from 80s Hollywood, it plays out more like something from Ciaphis Cain, or possibly Gaunt's Ghosts (without the extraneous stupid).

If you can get people to agree to missions then go for it. My suggestion is get them to agree when you are face to face. If you set it up in advance and one of you cannpt make it you'll only be disapointed.
Though you can still plan out the misions.

The main mission will be 'keep your testicles, whilst various evil Orkish castrator warlords roam the board, will-nilly, attempting to circumcise your commander, with a meat cleaver..'.

*Climbs in to stormlord*
Was just a sugestion as someone wanted to make a Waarrrrrrrrgh campaign, need objectives for the war really, like say point 1 supply dump, point 2 outpost etc.

I'd probably be willing to do some form of campaign style thing, and play scenario based missions...
And Warboss Dave hasn't got my commander's prized parts yet either...

So... wait.
I just noticed Gabe's edit on the first post.
We're meeting on Friday the 13th, my regiment is the 13th and last time I was in room 13 in the Travelodge... I wonder if they'll give me the same room again?

So if I play you on the 13th, with both our regiments being 13s (in 2013), will we do serious damage to the Cosmos, and unravel the universe, and everything?

Mine isn't the 13th Regiment... or company for that matter... but yeah - destruction will be untold...

Don't damage Cosmic, I like his painting threads.... Vegna, Im up for some 'missions' if you fancy it. They could be from the Batytlemissions book if you want, or if you want to plan one then send me a PM with the details. There were some good 'rolling campaign' scenarios in the last rulebook if i'm correct, that could also be fun to do if more want to join in with it.

RT (or anyone else for that matter), whats the points limit for the Tempest games? Or, if there's no limit www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFd5Cci_pE4, what would you recommend for a noob?

I was thinking something simple like: First mission IG need to establish a foot hold. Could be an imense landing like the front of the codex *drools at the idea of trying to do that* Second clear perimiter/establish perimiter which is basicly just skirmish games. with a few crates/scraps/supply dumps. Each one captured is used later on for defences. Nothing complex just stuff to add to the fluff and make it more war than just a boxing match.

The problem I have with a set campaign is that I feel you can either join in or not. The missions can be personalised without actual planning; we could just work around Battle Missions if need be. But if you want to make up some scenarios Vegna, then good on you mate. I just don't want to feel tied to a set campaign.

For people who haven't had much time at playing games, a set game sounds a bit daunting to be honest. We're only going to have a day, how many games can you fit in that? Especially if there's about 10 of us playing too.

If some people want to play a set of games then they should give it a go. Other people will probably want to keep it casual so you should be able to play some basic games Cosmic.
Also if people stay for the whole set of days then there will be two days and up to three evenings gaming.

it's not really that much different to a normal game, it's just like a named set of objectives. The idea is it should be a relaxed campaign, as in real war there's lots of small skirmishes and also large battles and everythign inbetween so can have pretty much every type of game you want.
