Hey guys, It's been a while since my last post, but i have been busy with stuff the last few weeks. 6 mm stuff to be exact I've been doing some research on the battles of waterloo and gettysburg, as i am considering to do some armies in 6 mm for them. www.baccus6mm.com/index.php?content=productsBaccus makes great 6 mm guys for them. I did however get some painting in, finishing the last 5 soldiers for my vet squad, and also some old epic models to check if i 'dig' the 6 mm scale. veterans vet squad epic (not based properly, but i just wanted to paint the figures to get a feel of 6 mm)

I think if Paul Revere had rode around that night yelling, "The Red Power Armour's are coming! The Red Power Armour's are coming!" the response from the local militia's would have been a little different....

Bet they would be more puzzled when those warboars started showing up

This weekend i went about painting my heavy wepons. I was sick of them lying in pieces so i panted them up so i could glue them. Next up will be the gunners.

Nice, and inspirational . I've just picked up a bunch of these old metal models myself, although I am not sure what colours to use. Probably not green though, but these look good! Cheers, M.

Thanx for the compliment. you will find them a joy to paint. they have very nice details!! if you want colour schemes, you can always check the second edition codex. it's full of colour schemes for old metal models.

I much prefer the old heavy weapons, and I think they look great in those colours. Those screens look amazing, how did you get such fine detail? -Empirespy

Finally another update!! I just finished painting my marbo and basilisk crew. I painted my marbo with a different colour of fatigues, but as i wanted him to work with the army colour scheme i decided to paint the camo pattern on his skin in the army colours. the crew The crew in the bassie Marbo

Someone made him angry I'm not to keen on that camo personally, if I were you I'd paint him in normal flesh tones, then paint patchs of camo on top of that, but that's how I'd like it, it still looks cool as is though.

I feel that a man who stalks the undergrowth and jungle as his past time, he needs to be entirely camoed It's a matter of taste, but i just think it makes more sense. not the colours per se, but that's just taken to fit in with the rest of my army.

Nice use of the old Catachan lascannon loader as your Marbo! The only thing I would suggest would be to go in with either Badab black wash, or some thinned down black paint and shade his eye sockets--he's kind of got the pop-eyed look going on right now.

These guys are absolutely fantastic! The old metal cadian models are what got me interested in IG as an army in the first place. I had visions of hoards of tyranids swarming into sustained fire from massed ranks of these guardsmen (I may have been going through a starship troopers phase)... I always wanted an army of these guys, but a full metal army was way out of my price range at the time!
I love the colour scheme, simple yet very effective, and I really like how Marbo looks so well camoflaged, yet still ties in really well!

Thanks a lot matt! Excuse the lateness of my reply, hadn't seen someone commented on my post! Yes the starship trooper feeling bit me too when i had the first ones years ago. That's why i painted the first ones with grey uniforms

But i just spotted a flaw, forgot to paint three tiny black circles on the barrels of the smoke launcher. Will have to have a crack at that tomorrow.
