Does the weaken resolve count as a shooting attack because it doesnt say it is like it does with soulstorm

It is not a psychic shooting attack. It is a psychic power that requires line of sight.

In case you need a second 'opinion' Trickstick is right.

In case you need a second opinion on what Rook said, he is right in saying that Trickstick is right.

Clarification please:
If you have Psyker Battle Squad with 6 Sanctioned Psyker's and 1 Overseer deployed in a Chimera.
1. Does the Weaken Resolve use -6 on leadership of the targeted unit or -5 (since only 5 can 'shoot' from a Chimera)?
2. Can you target Weaken Resolve and Soulstorm at different targets or must they be the same target?
3. Does Soulstorm get reduced to Strength 5 vs Strength 6 because of being in a Chimera? (I don't think it does because the codex states the Psyker Battle squad is treated as a single psyker.)
I've been actually thinking about using 9 Sanctioned Psykers with a Overseer. Strength 9 with D6 AP inside of a Chimera along with getting Weaken Resolve against a Squad that you want to fail a Leadership Test might be interesting to use on occasion.

I m pretty sure you still het the - 6 leadership and strength 6 because you may use any Psykers LOS to resolve shooting powers. Therefore I assume that they are only fireing out of one gunport in the chimera, the squads powers are just channled through that one individual.

1. Does the Weaken Resolve use -6 on leadership of the targeted unit or -5 (since only 5 can 'shoot' from a Chimera)? Only one of the psykers needs to shoot for the powers to go off. They are not limited by the number of fire points, as long as there is one for a psyker to launch the power from. 2. Can you target Weaken Resolve and Soulstorm at different targets or must they be the same target? You can only do one power with the PBS a turn. 3. Does Soulstorm get reduced to Strength 5 vs Strength 6 because of being in a Chimera? (I don't think it does because the codex states the Psyker Battle squad is treated as a single psyker.) Nope, you get full strength. I've been actually thinking about using 9 Sanctioned Psykers with a Overseer. Strength 9 with D6 AP inside of a Chimera along with getting Weaken Resolve against a Squad that you want to fail a Leadership Test might be interesting to use on occasion. Seems a popular way to use them, although you have to choose between which power you want to use.

Weaken resolve is by far the most powerfull of the two powers.. You really only need 6 - 7 Psykers.. Only reason to take 8 would be to deny FNP saves on BA jump lists.. But the AP-D6 is still only 50/50..
Weaken resolve on the otherhand means that any Ld test (casualties here) would force the unit to flee..
Ofcause this is worthless against fearless units.. But there are some very killy units around that arn't fearless... Paladins come to mind, having them run off the table/away from your lines is always nice..
Kras..

A decent unit of Paladins usually has Draigo in it though, so will be fearless.

Well it does go the otherway..
If a Libby joins a squad of Purifiers, then the Libby is indeed Fearless..

I always like to bring the 9 psykers tho, I mean that S 9 large blast can really come in handy if you put them in a chimera and protect the tin foil side and rear armor. Though with all the fearless crap i usually find myself fighting weaken resolve dosent usually get alot done.

Which crap are we talking about here..? Just out of interest..
Because the games i play, there is usually quite far between fearless units.. (exception would be Orks, PM CSM lists and Purifier Spam.. Of which the Purifier spam is the hardest for guard)
Kras..

Ahh Daemons.. Well they can luckly be torrented to death when they land.. IMO Daemons shouldn't be that big a deal for IG.. We have the 3d best codex in the current game and daemons are second/third worst..

Mm, but psykers aren't exactly more efficient than a regular Guard squad against them.

Well the large blast can still hurt them on 2+ most of the times.. But yes, they are low T infantry, just like all the other infantry we have..

Mm, but for the points you could bring two Guard squads and a PCS (almost), which would probably be better against Daemons. Especially in meleƩ. As we all know, a lasgun is the fire support element for the bayonet.

Ahh yes that is true, the 20 man would last longer.. Properbly not win much, but tarpit the bloodletters.. I just assumed that the list allready contained a PBS...

Also, 20 men+FRF will wipe most daemon squads. Aside from plaguebearers. And it can objective-camp.
