Hi guys,
I can use a little bit of help with putting the DKOK advancing squad together.
For some odd reason FW numbered the guardsmen with Roman Numbers and the arms with Letters. I must say that’s not a great help.
A close look at the photo´s on the FW website does answer some of the questions but not all. What I figured out is: • Body II with Arms K does make the Sergeant. • Body IX with the Arms N (sprue K.7) (makes the flamer, I think)
Not clear Sprue K.6 : Arms E Arms H Arms A Arms K
Not clear Sprue K.7 : Arms I Arms C Arms C Arms B
Perhaps 2x Body´s V combining with 2x arms C ?
But the other 6 ones, I don´t have a clue, Or does it not matter and do they fit all?
I do hope to get some guidance Thanks in advance

I thought their kits were simlar to the GWS kits, you can choose who gets what.

Not necessarily, the arms were designed to fit a certain figure, but that shouldn't stop you from rearranging the arms and bodies to give unique poses. My suggestion Magot, test out a set of arms on each body and then pick which body you like the look of the arms to go on. That is what I do and my figures all look a little different. If I didn't then everyone would look standard. As you work your way through you will start matching arms to bodies and walla! You're done

Hi Kriegeirk, yes you are correct. that´s the way to do it, and that´s also the way I did it before, And indeed the result is always unique However I found myself in some trouble with a particular model, yes the last one of 10!! the arms and the weapon simply did NOT fit, And because it was the last one and I would not take apart the finished ones I did need to solve it with green stuff. I dit it succesfully and you can´t find the error anymore. So I thought those numbers and letters should mean something. mostly they do and you can figure it out, however with this squad it is a little puzzle. (and a nice one because it is an important part of the hobby!!) I was just wondering if some one figured it out before. so the lesson is that you try fit all the arms before you glue them to the body’s....

@ Vegna, Thanks for your comment, no with these FW models it is not always possible to give them what you want. for instance a melta gun does have a belt over shoulder. the belt is in 2 parts, one is on the body and the second part is on the melta gun ! (However I did it, and green stuffed the missing belt over the shoulder) the other thing can be that the arms are holding a rifle in some kind of an aming position, in that case it looks a little bit odd if the facing of the head is focused on a different spot. (but you always can think that the guardsman hears something and is disturbed in his shot...... )

Death Korpsman don't flinch in battle!!! As for the problem you stated, what I do is match up arms with bodies and then set the figure aside with the arms that best fit the model. It's a tedious process but it definitely works and you can't really go wrong. Just a process of elimination.

I use blue tac to test all arms when setting up. And I thought the heads were free as well as the arms, knew the legs and torso couldnt be changed but still. Plus it's infantry squad, should only come wiht a GL or flamer.

Yep the blue tac sounds good Vegna. need to find out how this stuff is named in the netherlands.....
and b.t.w. the infantry squads may have, plasma pistol, power weapon or fist, (WM) and Melta or Flamer or GL or, and the best one, a Plasma Gun!

There has been an increase, I've noticed of DK players, especially on this board over the past year. I think FW should reconsider re-releasing the Death Korps for another IA campaign. SM campaigns are getting redundant.....
I've noticed that FW has also been rearranging the DK page around lately by moving items around. I'm afraid that the moved items are going to be removed soon.. If this is the case my internship in May needs to come faster so I can make my purchases before then!!!

Isn't it set on the amount of units of that kit sold? so the best sellers end up first, the least sellers at the back?

Maybe? Not honestly sure? Sometimes companies move items to the front of the list to try and push sales on those items if they haven't been selling too. I hope it is one of these two options and not the latter I mentioned earlier.

But if you go for the plasma´s in all squads, as I did, you need to spent money . I did searched at Ebay but no luck till today.

I do not think that Death Riders 2, 3 and 5 are the best selling models today. No. 1 and 4 are on an other page..... very strange. I ordered them today, all five of them, and............ YES via Ebay today the commissar on a horse YES !!! ;D this because in the last battle I played with a (borrowed) unit of 6 riders, and they killed a unit of Chaos Terminators after they had charged them in one single combat round HOUZEE. (the terminators where already slightly softend up by some good aimed shots from the DKOK comrads). And to be honest, I do not like to think of FW taking out some model of the DKOK of production. Not while I am just starting with them.

never get why they make limeted edition modells...they just give money to people who have money to blow :/ Also Magot, why I don't put plasmas in most on my lists even with my normal guard. Their effective against MECs but against Orks and Nids I'd rather have a GL and spend the X points (is that allowed? X is the symbol for the points...LOL) I admit I got the weapons sprue as well but thats so i could have a legit squad, didn't get a las-pistol and close combat weapon. I have been tempted to make an assault squad of DKoK as you can exchange their lasrifles for pistols so I assume that'd mean you get double attacks...shame we don't got no squadie transport

Look forwad to seeing them painted up! yes the Gorgon is a Super Heavy choice indeed. I saw you somewhere on this board mentioning that you like the FW heavy weapons. I just bought 3 Heavy Mortars, I am in doubt if I continue with the next squad or with those 3....

I'd paint them up first, mistake I've made with my cadians is getting more kits then i can paint I like the Thudd guns. Me and KRIEGEIRK have worked out a way to use them with lots of fire, being medium art means they would also fit fluff wise on the board. (the earth shakers etc wouldnt be on the battle field)
