Macknight, you are a shining beacon to bad painters like me. And poor people. Also like me. I'm an art professor, I know the patience required to be great at something. It takes practice and self dedication to get just good, then some luck and outside forces to get above that. I'm glad I can inspire someone to better themselves at something.

Hahaha! Love the use of the Empire mechanical horsey He's my Mogul, got the idea after I read his fluff in the codex. Made with mostly the empire mechanical horse kit, with horse headgear swapped, spare elysian torso, catachan medic head, arms and pack, dark elf coldone knight lance and tipped with IG mortar shell.

That Thunderbolt is ace. Was it a decent build? I've heard some horror stories with FW fliers. What was your airbrush and hand painting ratio?

That Thunderbolt is ace. Was it a decent build? I've heard some horror stories with FW fliers. What was your airbrush and hand painting ratio? It was 2nd cast off eBay but the quality is quite good, I got it for 99 off alexprintposter from Russia/china, made my own windshield, bought a stand kit off dragonforge, added 4 spare HK missiles, magnetized them. I had to do some filling at the back of the engine part, also the engines under the wings after I painted with some green stuff and touch it up. I painted with hand, no airbrush nor any experience, just with large brush doing a cross hatching effect. It's an airplane, so I took my quality time and did it right, and I invest 99 in it. You just need a good quality plier to cut joints.

That is a really nice looking 'Bolt, Macknight. Kriegeirk: I have one as well, which I got many years ago, and for a FW kit it is/was really straightforward to assemble. I don't think I even had to do any hot water straightening of parts with mine--it's a solid kit.

Macknight, where did you get that marvelous traitor governor?
The bald head, paunch and nose in the air just set the model off so well.

That governor model is from Adepticon, I got it off ebay for $5 including shipping, they made a 2nd edition model from this, a steel legion master of ordanance, you can buy from their website here: www.fullborerminiatures.com/store/

And then a Basilisk shell came whistling in and set the entire tower alight, killing everybody. Yay for the Imperium!
I love the story you're telling, Mac. Good job, keep it up.

found a bunch of generic bluish powersword paint job, they aren't what I'm after, found 1 that showed a lightning effect on a sword, which I will try. You could always swap the colours out, the technique will be pretty much the same. I think I did the lightning one (was it from the Space Hulk painting guide?) and it was fairly simple and turned out pretty well. Scrolling down to the bottom of this page makes me cry tears of joy. Such a lovely army!

I approve of everything I see in this thread since my last comment! Could we get some more angles of the Governor, and some more shots of the Assassin, please?

That. Is. A very, very nice looking Hydra! More pics/angles of the Gunny Sgt. please? I'm currently working on converting a second Harker, as the one I originally converted looks a bit weedy--he's just normal Catachan-sixed. Using Catachan bits with plasticard and GS spacers under the boots, at his waist, and between the arms and torso--he's going to be huge!

Really nice conversion of the stock Harker mini! Before I checked back in I arrived at the conclusion of adding the Ork spent shell casing stream and pile to my WIP as well.

The imperial trench line is finally done after 2 months of on and off work.. sorry, no group shot of them yet, its too big for my coffee table and backdrop.
The bigger images are on pg2, where I group all the terrains, this way is easier to maintain.
