looks great mate... lots of work on those i imagine... the bunker is especially well painted... does it allow troops inside? with a removeable roof or is there no back on it? It allow troops, you can put 2 HWT inside the bunker, though for picture reasons, I did not. I will post my steel legion in the trenches in the morning as my camera batteries charges up. On the dead guardsmen shoulder pads, I put the 144th cadian regiment as they got massacred. This trench system matches so well with the fluff in 'fire caste', dead guardsmen left to rot, not even bother the time to bury..

I admire your abilities. I have the bunker of that wall of martyrs collection and I hated painting it. That's why I'm not uploading the picture. How the hell did you manage to paint all the damn corpses?

How the hell did you manage to paint all the damn corpses? I hated the damn thing too, took me 2 months of work, it definitely sapped some of my enthusiasm of painting minitures. Painting bunker/trenches: I split into 5 sections(bunker, 6 cross sections, 16 small walls, 3 trench lines and another 3 trench lines), so they are manageable to me. 1) priming it black, washy abaddon black over the primer, xacto knifed pooled up paint, watered down of skavenblight dinge for pooled up effect of dirt/grim, watered down coat of Vallejo gunship green over plate areas, drybrushing eshin grey, highlight codex grey and fortress grey. 2) drybrushing skeletons with bone, wash with ogryn flesh, then other details of deciding color and highlights. 3) brush on clear gloss varnish, put on decals, once dry, put another coat of gloss to seal it, lastly brush on clear satin acrylic varnish to dull down the gloss. 4) paint the metal areas, lots of mundane bolts and screws, badak black wash of larger bolts, brass on imperial symbols, gryphonne sepia wash over it. 5) apply FW powders to desired areas for more depth, matte varnish the whole thing.

That Wall of Martyrs is pure sex. Don't know if I will ever get one, but you painted the hell out of that set.

Your ability to bring so many different models together to form a hugely impressively, consistent force is amazing, Macknight.
What's next on the list?

What's next on the list? well, I am the emperor to them, so the consistency will be there. I am currently working on a macharius battle tank, in the tube for IG are gaunt's ghost, 'expendables' raptor rough riders, inquisitor henchmens. Just finish all the orks I have, may get some bommers in the near future. Finishing up some tau and then its onto dark elder.

Your terrain is awesome! Some of the best looking IG vehicles I've seen. May I ask how you painted your ruins if you haven't posted that already. Man that looks good.

The ruins are primed black, drybrush dark grey, another layer of medium grey, watered down charadon granite over the whole thing for grim effect, highlight light grey on lifted areas, then other detail colors before metals and washes.

is that a tattoo on the female trooper her arm? they look great! yes sir, they all have tats except the commy, I use ice blue or jade green for the color of the tats, she has the Taurus zodiac sign tat there. In the process of smoothing out the scratch out imperial icons over the las pistol/gun, canteen, chest armor, helmet, etc with soft green stuff and xacto knife, drilling all the barrels as well, its taking a toll but its worth it.

update for my guard, tau, orks: all gun barrels drilled and retouched up; catachan tatted up; crisis suits, sentinels, Valkyrie, vulture magnetized and retouched, added alternate weapons systems for them such as a 2nd skyray turret; got a deal off ebay for Black Library Ghost's colonel and 1 tanith trooper for $20, painted up too; bought a voss lightning and centaur assault vehicle(on route), and a proper Nikon camera to take pictures with. These previous images were only taken with a Olympus point and click 12 Mega Pixel camera, just think of what they be with a new 24 mega pixel camera can do.. super excited!
Stay tuned, I will get proper images of all my forces when the camera arrives..
In the meantime, I am painting up fantasy mounted zombie dragon, and some dark elves anticipating for their new release; one step closer to work on my dark eldar.

... bought a voss lightning and centaur assault vehicle(on route) I like the way that was hidden in amongst that long list of stuff, hoping that I wouldn't notice ..just think of what they be with a new 24 mega pixel camera can do.. super excited! I've never thought of your pictures as anywhere near bad, although I am looking forward to super detailed shots of your collection!!!

Massive update: as previously mentioned my guard have gone through a make over. Catachans all tattooed up; random sand cleaned off side of bases; uneven marks on helmets/canteens/lasguns etc. have been smoothed over with green stuff and retouched; all gun barrels outside of lasgun and las pistols have been drilled and retouched; magnetized alternate weapons on sentinels/Valkyries/vulture etc.
Added a rare tanith colonel to gaunt's ghosts, voss lightning, centaur, rogue trader(using solar macharius model), celebrity catachan rough riders. Enjoy!

updating with some death riders and a couple of emplacements.. My dark eldar vehicles are all painted up, just the infantry left; working on my 11th leman russ and 2nd hellhound next along with the painting comp entry; also on the agenda are my self resin casts, I need to get better at making the molds to prevent so much bubbles when I cast resin, I have 10 guardsmen from the process so far..
