Unless I've read everything incorrectly, I could have sworn they were south-east, near Ultramar, but even more to the east, and a little south?

I got the latest WD and have been looking at the pic of the T-hawk. The one in WD is missing the aquila under the cockpit, as well as the large skull between the forward panes of the cockpit in the FW model--but people have said these are optional parts on the FW kit. There also appears to be some sort of pitot tube thing on the left side of the hull that's not on the FW kit, but the viewing angle is not optimum, and the part appears to be warped (therefore possibly another resin part from the FW kit that isn't included?)...
Does anyone know if the FW kit has a Landraider style targeting optics pod on its forward landing gear? This is clearly visible in the WD photo, but I can't tell from the FW site if their model has this feature...

GW have on the past used slight miscast FW stuff as display pieces.

Yeah, I honestly can't tell if it's a FW T-hawk or not... On the other hand, the new Tau stuff in WD looks sufficiently schmexy that I'm toying with the idea of a small force from the "Derp'n" Sept. What might hold me back, though, is that the Battlesuit Commander is Failcast, and I'm still not in love with the standard XV-8 Battlesuit, despite them getting re-cut so the legs are more poseable. The Riptide and Broadside kits look stunning, and now that I've gotten a better look at it, the flyer is actually kinda cool--and is a two for one kit. Also, the Tau are getting their own version of Pask/Sergeant Chronus... There's also a spectacular entry in the Golden Daemon section of the magazine where someone took a Dreadknight and Nurglefied it...

have to agee, I love the riptide but its just not enough for me to buy it on its own, to think 3 battlesuits are £45 and I just sold 9 unpainted and well built for that price lol

This is really annoying; no newsagents have WD yet locally. Wondering if this is a new policy to get people to go to GW stores..?
Wow! The new broadsides are sooo much more expensive than the old ones, but the old ones were such nuts models.

The new broadsides are sooo much more expensive than the old ones, but the old ones were such nuts models. I have to confess that I actually think the price of the new Broadsides may actually be worth it, as they are a vast improvement on the previous version. If only the standard XV-8 kit had gotten a more substantial overhaul* as well... Still kind of going back and forth on whether the Riptide really is worth $85, although I've got to admit that it looks impressive... *I've heard they now have knees that are articulated, allowing for better posing, but I don't know it this legit or not. Edit: Holy crap! Just read from sources translating the Spanish version of the tau Codex that the Riptide is T6 and W5! Also its heavy burst cannon is S6 with 8 shots, that can be bumped to 12 with risk of overheat, the ion cannon option is S7 AP2 with 3 shots, but can be bumped to S9 AP2 large blast... Broadside railcannon is S8 AP1, TL. The missile pod replacement is S7 AP4 4 shots. Maximum of 3 in a unit.

I don't know if it's as big as a Stompa, but it appears to pretty big--bigger than a Dreadknight to my eye...
Oh, and ignore my comment about the Broadside having a rail cannon. I think someone screwed up and put that in instead of the rail gun. Also I heard that the Pask analog will give the tank he's controlling BS5...

The Tau seem to be suffering from "Playstation Syndrome". Somehow I'm not surprised.
The Apoc rumor interests me more, since Apoc stuff is always pretty cool. I can see a bombard, and I dearly hope for the Thunderhawk even though it almost certainly won't happen. The Hydra would be sort of a disappointment, since Skyfire has made it useless to me now for it's main role of transport popper, but I can see GW releasing a new model for a unit they just kicked in the teeth.

He never told me it would be dual build...
The hydra has been in the world for ages I think, sounds about right they'd do it now they've nerfed it to death.

Yeah, since I've already got 2 FW Hydras, I'm not hugely interested in a plastic one. The Colossus I can take or leave. Interested by this Titan-like thing--thinking it may be the comeback of the Knight classes from Epic...

Any takers?

It took them 1 day to release the errata! 1 Day!?! At least they are getting quicker at fixing things, but they really should try to get it as right as possible 1st time. On an unrelated note, I got this month's white dwarf, and laughed at the fact that it has more pages than the tau codex...

"Oh hey, we're releasing this fabulous new thing, but Oh No, we suddenly don't have enough to meet demand because we're terrible at calculating demand or cynically manipulating availability because we think it'll profit us somehow! Either way too bad, suckers."
It happened with the PS 2, and the PS 3, and will probably happen with whatever they release next.

Strange coincidence, but of my three new codices, all of them are 105 pages long, do you think this is going to be the standard, and if anyones got the DA codex, is it also the same? Just a thought, I wonder if the same is true for the fantasy books...
