I'm new here so thought I'd contribute with a few pics of some of my bits and bobs. I LOVE the imperial guard, by far the most flexible army in terms of selection, fluff, modelling opportunity, conversion and FIREPOWER! All my modelling techniques can be found day following my sig, but tbh, why wade through hundreds of pages when I can put up a choice selection here. With regard my winter Drogans, the plan is simple, create over 250 individually crafted troops, trying to get the most poses from the Cadian sprues! My painting is nothing to crow about I admit, but I would like to think I make up for it with variety and imagination. Enjoy... Cant take credit for the painting of these two (these are painted by the magnificent Ash!) but the builds and casting are mine. I wanted a generic "truck" on which I could mount various tray load outs. A truck is something the IG is lacking. Most of the time these act as mobile scenery. I call the vehicle a BOAR. Command BOAR and radio dish transporter (dish by Quantum Gothic) I designed them with the canvas covered Black Dog cargo tray in mind so I can do this. More cargo variants again painted by Ash. AA version of the BOAR.

My favourite FW model the Crassus forms the backbone of the transport for the 23rd. Probably my second favourite FW vehicle, the cyclops demo vehicle with a 23rd operator. A few 23rd snipers. And troopers

These are awesome. Loving the paint jobs. It looks seriously cold where these guys are. FW stuff is always sweet... when you have the dabloons and an extra limb to pay for em.

I agree but tbh, they gave me one of the Crassus for free!

Nice to see another superb army on this forum for inspiration! My only critique is that Harker nor his gun is big enough. My favorite is the necron ship you did, a prized diorama! Good to have you on the board.

Holy creepy creepy cre...akdghasgkhadsg I can't spell anymore. This is ace, my friend. Give me the flatbed! Because I totally agree, we have no trucks. Which is odd. I bet they do exist but I'm not confident enough to go cutting up Tamiya models.

Here's a renegade valk built by me but painted by another talented chap, Steve. I love seeing stuff look the part on a games table, adds to the whole image of the game.

Okay, this thread has some serious win in it. Love the conversion work on the troopers--very effective use of GS and alternative head bits! The trooper getting swarmed by the Scarabs is pure awesome. Any chance of some shots of him from different angles, please?

By the way, are those heads Steve of Mad Robot's?

Nope. I carved the fw respirator face and added the Catachan beret and the cadian "alpine" hat. Then I simply green stuff cast them for myself.
I will take a look for another swarm guy pic.

The best of the bunch. Tomb raiding is a risky business. A few more of the Rangers.

Many thanks chaps. Glad you are enjoying the models. I don't want to bore you with hundreds of figures and tanks so I will just pop up a small selection. If you want winter troops, I can do that...

I also love making battlefield clutter and scenery. A small selection I did for my imperial guard camp, Camp Talvenus. Others added great suff to it and we tabled it at the last Gamesday.

In what way fella? Winterising them? jips, they give me a WWII germans fighting in russia-vibe. still it's good that it would require too much time to rework them and for now some of my sanity yet remains ;D

German Alpine troops were my inspiration for them I will admit. CommyBob cheers fella. They do add an element of "lived in" to a games board. Not everything on the table needs to be engaged in combat! Cosmic, I shouldn't worry, I've seen some of your stuff. Wish I could paint half as well....
