Nice! I may have to take a break from my 'Nids and get back to work on my RRs now. Oh, also, your captain with the trenchcoat and the shotgun looks like an absolute badass!

Thanks 1974!
I'm pleased with my WIP on my RRs and also my Ogrons but I think my vets excite me the most.
The Captain, yeah, what's better than a shotgun..? A drum fed shotgun with scope! He's one if those Captains that I can see getting into the thick if it, not sitting at the back.

lances, those roughriders need lances! and here's why!

Dunno, don't like lances (rules wise they have em!)
In fact, I wish I could make them more like dragoons who ride to position take cover and give fire.
In game, these guys won't be on the table unless in very large games. More just for the glass cabinet.

Orded my stuff from Victoria minatures yesterday. Very excited! Her range is even more vast than I remember. Fab bits for modian guard or pretorians. Also for made up regiments, like Scottish, Geanstealer or chaos cultists or ab-humans. Also exstra equipment for your vets/penal and such, like the awsome pump shotguns. A guard players must to bookmark. victoriaminiatures.highwire.com

Do ya think?
I ordered 6 kneeling legs, 10 shotguns (with arms), 10 resin pith heads, 6 other heads, 5 lasguns (with arms) all for £22.36
Also, heads price (£5.22 for 10 heads) wise compete with maxmini and other such compatible parts..

Victoria miniatures are great. Curious constructs also has amazing metal pith heads, the Life Guard heads (like the Queen's Royal Horse Guard basically - pith helmets and a plume) are always in good supply and cheaper than the others. If you don't mind using metal I really recommend them.

Nice! They're looking properly hard. I really like the missile launcher conversion, and the Rough Riders are looking good. The only thing I'd suggest is going back in and making sure you've scraped mold lines on a couple of the miniatures. Can't wait to see these guys painted up!

the roughriders are off to a good start, although it feels weird that a lot of them aren't using any reins. have you considers using some thin plasticard to use/elongate the existing reins? personally i would also remove all the metal hangers on the reins as these feel rather brutal, considering the praetorian background. last but not least adding stirups seems like a good idea too... I must however point of that i'm guilti of not having added proper reins and stirups on my rough riders myself, but am trying to add them to my models as we speak!

Thanks Trouper 1-9-7-5, I leave the mould lines on the legs as they become the stripe. However, I do need to go back and check the boots are free of mould lines.
Hendrik, that's a good point mate. Two are holding the saddle, two others should really have something in the hand, I will do this with green stuff. But I do like some of the primitive look on the straps and such, l like the contrast.
Same with the vets, the rag tag Gasmasks and pump shotguns give an almost steam punk look.
The Leman Russ I'm picking up this week will high light the ragtag contrast and steam punk look of my army as it will have a Warhammer Fantray steam tank engine and exstra piping and such.

You're welcome!
For my RRs I'm going to be using fine chain (maybe with small bits of round plastic peg for the footrests) for the stirrups and possibly the reins as well.

My RR WIP photos are buried somewhere in my picture thread, a few pages back from the Tyranid stuff that is currently contaminating it. None of the reins and stirrups, though, as I have yet to try actually making any.

i failed at my conversion due to my superglue changing in composition since last time i've used it. it just didn't work like before and was a hell to use! i think greenstuffing them tartially will be easier in hindsight

Very cool archaic plasma tank, match up with the fluff too! The dino rider RR looks off, they're better off riding WHFB Empire Pistolier horses. ONE major suggestion for you: clean the mold lines, they will show up and it'll absolutely ruin your paint job and degrade your work.

I really like the concept of the Steampunk Executioner. The one thing I'd suggest about it is that I think the plasma weapons need more tubes and gubbins on them to make them even more Steampunky. And yeah, mold lines. Looking good!

Yeah, my mould lines need sorting and some gaps green stuffing.
I've left the tracks off, that way I can spray the tank (army painter) black then red and the tracks will be done black then lightly with gray, then fitted. I hate painting tracks!

Gaming loft almost finished! One room has storage for all my books, games and armies and a 4x4ft table and if I remove the boards two tables for painting & modelling. The other room (well it's all kind of open planned) has a 8x4ft table / 2 4x4fts that can be made into 4 more painting & modelling tabels... Life is good!
