Hate the look of the Taurox. If the rules are any good though I may consider forking out the extra $$$ for a Crassus and just mod it. (yes, I hate the model that much I'm willing to pay 3x the price for a counts-as...)

That looks like a post-apocalyptic short bus version of an MRAP or Saracen.

I puked in my own mouth when I saw that transport! then rubbed pheasies in my eyes so I couldn't look at it any more!
what they have done is made a mini imperialis / leviathan and failed! that's blatently where they got the four sets of tracks idea from with a top mounted gun. it would look a lot better if it was wider!
p.s at least we know where the orks looted all their battle wagon parts from now, and im still baffled as to why they had to change the name of the army!

I'm guessing it's because "Imperial Guard" is too generic a term for GW's legal team to go around claiming IP rights to, so they had to faux Latinize it in order to have a special unique flower/snowflake aspect to the name so as to be able to take third parties to court, etc. <.< >.> AMMB, anyone?

Wow that vehicle looks terrible. It does not match any other vehicle in the guard arsenal either. I don't really like the Stormtroopers either. Kasrkins are infinitely better.

Dougeye does make a good point. I suspect most of the sales of that thing will be to Ork players, it's almost too perfectly Orky to not loot.

The stormtroopers looks quite good, they're going back to 2nd ed with the berets style. I hope the APC have a 2nd alternative built, it looks like the civilian vehicles in IG fluff books.

I don't like it because they are blinged out with the trim and symbols. However, it might just be the paint job on those troops. I wasn't super excited by the other stormtrooper models, but these look pretty bland by comparison. The original look menacing and tough, these kind of look just like guardsmen with fancy armor plates and a silly cloak. (Kasrkins and Trooper's stormies 4ever)
The vehicle just looks so atrocious. Its way too talk looking and stubby and that stupid lion is moronic. I don't think there is a single guard vehicle with that kind of iconography on it.
On a whole it looks cartoony, like something in Warmachine.

Yeah the Howling Griffon, Bretonnian Lion is really out of place. It might look slightly better with a different camo scheme and covered, and I mean COVERED, in foliage and leaves, like a disguised catachan vehicle.

I suspect most of the sales of that thing will be to Ork players, it's almost too perfectly Orky to not loot. totally agree... it has a similar look to the enclosed cab trukk of the Forgeworld design: www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Orks/ORK_VEHICLES/ORK-TRUKK-WITH-ENCLOSED-CAB.htmlActually, that's scarily similar! All it would need is some decent tracks and it'll look great as an ork wagon... the 4 small sets of tracks could go toward grot tanks or wartrakks etc... and it has some nice exhaust pipework that fits with the style they did with the ork flyers. As for an imperial vehicle.. ?? to be honest, I feel I should be very angry about this complete fail as it shows a total mis-comprehension by GW of its customers, but I really can't be bothered.

Yeah, the only way I can see myself getting one is if the rules for them are amazing. They look like they need to either be longer or shorter, or even both. The track wheels were defiantly a major mistake.

Would have to agree with Gamma, if the rules are amazing I may have to get one or two and use them with gritted teeth
Just don't like the overall shape, it seems really unbalanced and bull bars? WTF. That and it looks like the GW design team are just trying too hard to make it look like an APC
Goes with what I've been saying recently, if its anything Imperial we get derby looking models, nearly all of the Xeno's races get beautiful kits (Eldar, Tau etc) while we have to deal with this monstrosity!
The griffon motif, exhaust pipes, bull bars, the rounded door, the silly double tracks and the oversize roof panel and stolen sentinel exhaust along the side are just wrong, pure wrong!
And also, what gun is that? a twin linked assault cannon or a twin linked punisher cannon?
If its the assault cannon, we'll be one of the first non marine armies to get one!

is it me, or is that second turret missing a gun?
the more I look at it the more I think how cool it'll look with ork boys hanging off it.
just need to find a decent set of tracks or maybe just custom buggy wheels.
I don't care what rules they give it... its so lame my guardsmen will never have it in their army.
(mind you, I still have reservations about the super marine *achem* I mean Knight Paladin...)

Only hope with that piece of junk is slicing the bottom half off and lowering it to try and make a sdkfz 251 look a like. Even then, feels like a lot of work to make something visibly appealing.
Storm Troopers still look awesome in that close up though I'm not sure how I feel about that fantasy esque wizard cloak the front guy has.

Storm Troopers still look awesome in that close up though I'm not sure how I feel about that fantasy esque wizard cloak the front guy has. I do have to say that the cloak being in the front really does ruin it for me so maybe I am projecting my bias to the others. I am willing to wait and see for this one. It funny everyone keeps bringing up the Half Track idea because its so very obviously better. The picture doesn't really give any clues as to its real scale. In fact, it is pretty cheap price wise so it could be smaller like large jeep side. It would be nice to see one that isn't show room painted like chem suggested. And with some decent conversion work like wheels in the front, longer track in the back, chop off lion and remove stupid skull grill it could actually be cool. But that is a lot of effort for one kit. Here is this design process: www.dailymotion.com/video/xbftj3_it-s-always-sunny-in-philadelphia-t_fun

I reckon I could make something decent looking out of that apc kit... double up the tracks width... remove the griffon, exhausts, doors.... make new doors... put the turret to the rear... ... yep... I reckon I can do that

It looks like an assault cannon to me. Back in the olden days (mid-90s or so), the metal Sentinel crewed by the old style Cadian that was briefly produced for second edition was armed with an assault cannon if my memory serves, and I believe the original "egg walker" Sentinel from Rogue Trader may also have been kitted out with an assault cannon.

that cloak might be a trench coat, like the Creed sculpt. that set does have a standard, which isn't in the standard guard unless they've changed it so many thats a command squad from the new suplement?

So did GW officially change "stormtroopers" to Tempestus Scions or is that just a specific stormtrooper group from a given planet like the Kasrkin? As much as I loathe the change from IG to Astra Militarum I think I hate replacing stormtroopers with Tempestus Scions even more.

Well, in the new IP-driven frenzy-world we hobby in, GW obviously can't claim exclusivity to the term "Stormtrooper" since Lucasfilm (now Disney) used it first, and the Nazis used it before them... Spots the Astra Militarum Tempestus Scion, anyone?

Spots the Astra Militarum Tempestus Scion, anyone? Yeah, Imperial Guard and Stormtrooper are impossible to trade mark, as both are historical terms. I heard someone suggesting that the name change was due to the famously litigious Disney now owning the Star Wars brand, and GW being scared of action. This made me laugh, as there is absolutely no way that anyone could prosecute a case on Imperial Guard or Stormtooper. To be honest, Astra Militarum has sort of grown on me over the past week. I think that how successful the name sticks is dependent on the power of the new codex. Too powerful or weak and people will lash out, with the name being an easy avenue to show dissatisfaction. Get the Codex in the Goldilocks zone, however, and I feel that general acceptance will be much easier.

Get the Codex in the Goldilocks zone, however, and I feel that general acceptance will be much easier. Indeed. Ah for the days of Rogue Trader when, none other than Rick Priestly, directly cited--in the BRB--that Star Wars was the inspiration for 40K. Over-litigiousness has ruined so many things. And GW getting schooled in court over "Spots 'teh Sphess Muhreen'" as well as the Chapterhouse partial loss (which has likely screwed 'Nid players out of having a drop pod equivalent) has probably caused their in-house parasites legal team to scream at the design team to rename everything that has been historically established so as to be able to defend IP and exclusivity/ TM disputes in the future... However, to me the common human grunt will always be a member of THE IMPERIAL GUARD, and the slightly more elite human grunt will always be a STORMTROOPER. And "hot shot lasguns" will always be HELLGUNS! Freedom. 'Murica. Pew-pew-pew.
