he he.. so much magic jargon!
I have friends who love magic and built huge collections, i have played a few games and tend to go toward red zap decks because they are really easy to play. especially when very drunk.

Burn decks aren't as easy as you think. Red deck wins maybe, but that's something else entirely.

Woz Yeah, I'd take a careful look back through some of your cards, could be quite a valuable stash. Trying to decide between playing Mardu Warriors or Temur Monsters....hrmmmm

Mardu has access to the best removal. Run the new 2/1 that exiles creatures from graveyards and gains life when warriors hit play (Mardu Woe-Reaper), Brutal Horde Chief as a finisher. This is what I threw together given my own brief foray into Mardu Aggro. Soldier is a placeholder for the Woe-Reaper, but other than that, this is pretty much what I would run if I were going to make a warriors deck. The sideboard needs work, Chief of the Scale should probably be a 2 of there, but the main board is good I think.

Ive bought a new box (36 boosters) in the hope of making a good life deck, similar to the white decks in 2013/14 on xbox... I have a bunch of angels and pacifism already so all I need is some decent life linkers and a big lion type planeswalker

Buying boosters is fun, but if you know what you're after it's much cheaper to buy the cards you want directly.

tappedout.net/mtg-decks/09-01-15-gWn-mardu-warriors/My first attempt at Mardu. Like yours mostly Paimon. Not a fan of Tormented hero, relatively slow if he's not in your opening two turns, and without anything to target him specifically you don't get to use his heroic. Like your sideboard though, need to add one to mine. Aspirant actually pairs really well with Alesha, hmmm...

Tormented Hero is good because he's a 3/1 if you've got out Chief of the Edge. Alesha is super cool, and probably should be in there anyways. Hateblade doesn't get damage through fast enough, and if you care that much about deathtouch, you've always got the Ruthless Ripper, who can be a 1 drop or a morph who can flip for free and get an extra 2 damage in. Shadow Spear seems kind of cool, but again, it's going to get brick walled by Sylvan Caryatid.

Post your rares! Paimon Agreed on him with anthem effects, just still feel he is slow late game with his tap. Hateblade is great for taking out caryatids or trading with sagu maulers. Ripper looses out on not being a warrior, and Shadowspear still zaps them a life even if chumped by caryatids, plus being a warrior as well. Counting on Chief's and Sorin to push down his caryatids. Still have Woe-Reaper and Bloodsoaked who only need one of those to knock em out.

If they are playing Sagu Mauler it means you haven't killed them fast enough. Besides, Crackling Doom deals with Sagu Mauler, and pretty much every other problem creature. You won't have the extra mana in the early game for Hateblade to trigger, and even if you do, they'll just take one because it's no big deal. If you've got a turn 1 Hateblade when you're on the draw, and you are facing down a Caryatid, you're either attacking for 1, or you're playing Chief of the Edge, and they're blocking the 2.
In an aggro deck as aggressive as Mardu Warriors wants to be, there is no such thing as the late game, and if there is, you've probably already lost. Coming in tapped doesn't really affect you, since you don't care about blocking anyways. Turn 2 and up you should be attacking forever. Tormented Hero is no slower than anything else, he just can't block the turn he comes down, but Bloodsoaked champion can never block. Sightless Brawler should definitely be War-Name Aspirant, since she's got nothing but upsides, and can be brought back with Alesha, and when she does, she'll get the Raid trigger when she hits play. More importantly, she dodges most blockers, and trades with Courser of Kruphix if you've got Chief out.

Paimon Eh, Maulers are hitting the table a lot sooner than you are giving them credit, but I'll agree to disagree on Hateblade and Hero. Spot on with Aspirant though and yes her pairing nicely with Alesha is perfect. Thanks.

Also, I really want to do a Dragon deck...either Grixis or Jund is my thinking at the moment.

Jund lets you play the Double Strike Dragon. Early Ramp, Stormbreath, the Mardu dragon and the Double Strike Dragon together in a deck sounds scary. With Xenagos, God of Revels, you can just win the turn the Double Strike Dragon hits play. Stick in Generator Servant for a better chance of dropping a super early hasty dragon and your opponent will have bad times.
Battle Brawler might be something to consider instead of Hateblade as well, since a Chief of the Edge will make him a 4/2 first strike, which is super good.

Yeah Jund actually looks like the better route. And yes, Battle Brawler looks like a solid choice as well and still falls into Alesha's ability. Tasty.

Meanwhile I just finalized orders for my monoblue ninjas >.> <-----------------that one guy who doesn't keep up with standard.
Haven't caught myself all the way up (I'm still at passing familiarity with Innistrad, Ravnica, and Theros blocks) to Khans, but I'm getting there. How do the Jeskai look so far? I've never tried three color decks (I kinda passed over alara), and the Jeskai strike the inner Asian in me <.<
....Plus Prowess + combat tricks look pretty sweet!

Jeskai are arguably the most powerful of the clans right now, and with many different flavors within those three colors.

Abzan is far and away the most powerful. Jeskai is good for sure, but not even close to the most powerful. The new cards might shift things a bit, but in the last two months, Abzan has been almost a third of the top eight decks. The left hand column has the approximate current metagame in order of most played (that placed in the top 8).

Man I have too many deck ideas for someone who doesn't get to play much at all. Old brain is brewing up ideas for a Mani/Morph deck in either Simic or Temur colors. Also trying to figure out if I'll make the pre release or not, and if so, what to play. Played Temur for Khans.

I am averse to the hippy dippy 'balance of nature' ideal in general, which makes the themes less interesting. I don't like 'Beasts' as a theme, which massively limits which creatures I can use, heck, even Wingmate Roc is something I've avoided, but if it were an Angel I'd probably force at least one.

I like greens MASSIVE creatures more than their multiplying elves but still... chants of the mul duire (sp) is the best deck on any of the xbox games, rarely lose with it.

Sorry. I value civilization, progress and ambition. Green is kind of the opposite of that.
