Thanks nutty, I tried it on a Landraider first and had good feedback. 3ff3ct, thanks again, funny you should mention the Macharius, I'm getting the Vanquisher variant on my birthday!

I know! Can't wait. Well I've spent the week painting a new ride for Guilliman. I've used the Landraider from the Warhammer World exclusive Command Tanks set. It's a really satisfying kit, though if your thinking of getting one don't glue it together completely (that's the mistake I made, which makes it awkward to get at some of the details!) Thanks for the replies people, really helps to motivate! Ultramarines LandraiderUltramarines Landraider Ultramarines LandraiderUltramarines Landraider

Nice!
My only feedback would be that the rivets on the grey/blue areas have disappeared a bit, although that very well could be the photo.
I love the extra details, they really make it special.

Thanks man! It's not the photo, I've used Space Wolf Grey and highlighted them with white I should probably shade them, but can't be arsed! Nearly finished my Damocles Command Rhino, will post when done.

cool rhino, better looking radar dish than the Damocles too. Looking forward to seeing the fellblade, I have one of those for my marines and it's a great tank. Got some nice heft to it too; you can litteraly crush some heretics with a big hunk of resin like that.

Have to say it again I love these. Your ultramarines are where I got 95% of the inspiration for my 30k. I poured through this thread before I got started into my calth box.

I'm glad to have had a positive impact on your hobby. Looking forward to seeing more of your Ultramarines. I've now painted the 3 Rhinos I had and I will post an army shot when I get a minute.

It's a great model, I must say I'm getting the bug for tanks. I'll be working on my Krieg army so plenty of practice at weathering this time! As a fair well to working on all thing Ultra related here's my full army laid out in parade order: Ultramarines army Ultramarines army Ultramarines army Ultramarines army As I said I'm taking a break from painting and building Ultramarine, so this will be my last post for a while. Thanks to everyone who has commented on this thread, it really helps to keep up the motivation. I hope you'll enjoy my Death Korps project.

After another belt of nutsty luck I've had to shelve my plans for a Death Korps army (I swear I'm jinxed!) So with a lack of cash I raided the bitz box! I managed to scrape the parts to build a Missile Launcher Heavy Support Squad. Here's the latest UltramarinesUltramarinesUltramarinesUltramarines Ultramarines Next up I'll be adding some Militia to the force. I'll be using Militarum Tempestus Scions.

I've finished my first Grenadier for my Ultramar Militia. I tried to go for a khaki scheme, the grey fatigues tie it in to the basing and blue helmet and shoulder pads to connect them to the XIIIth. This is the test model, opinions and suggestions would be very welcome. Ultramar Grenadier Ultramar GrenadierUltramar Grenadier

Finished my first Sentinel! I'm working on the neatness of my painting. Hopefully I can keep improving. The face took ages to do, trying to get to it was a problem! Really chuffed with this, one of my better models so far I think. SentinelSentinelSentinelSentinelSentinelSentinel

The grenadier is looking great! The ornate chest/shoulders on the scions never really did it for me because they are so different from the rest of the guard models, but they work great as a heresy era force imho. And I might just have to steal the baret head idea for my scout sentinel pilots, it really adds to the recon look

That is one cool looking banner.
If you don't mind me asking: what colors did you use for the gold/yellow? I've been trying to do something similar myself but put the project on hold after two tries; the first just looked brown and the second was way to yellow.

Thanks nutty! I don't mind telling you how I did mine. I start with Rhinox Hide then add increasing amounts of Vomit Brown (it's an old Citadel paint), until I'm happy with the colour, then add a little Ushabti Bone to the mix, finished with a line highlight of Ushabti Bone. That pretty much it! Out of interest, what is the project?

Thank's Jud!
The project is nothing to special, I built a tank commander holding a banner a while back and I have a few more that could use paint. I haven't actually used a standard in game for a while.. but I do like the look of them so I usually put one with each CCS as a 'counts as' lasgunner.
I might just have some vomit brown left over so I'll give it a shot sometime soon.
