I can't see any difference in that. A normal sized mini is a normal sized mini and imho it doesn't matter if it's a Skaven/Dwarf/Lizard or a Space Marine/Imperial Guardsman or whatever. And if they don't count I'm out of this after the first showdown because I ran out of minis

Well, it dosent say its limited to 40K, so I think it should be allowed.
I might jsut get some 40K minis so I can expand the army in time for the Librarium Online UK Meet up.

how bout we score a point with GW itself and say that any >>>GW<<<< mini (40k or WHFB, etc) can be painted and submitted for point gains. this will boost GWs sales which means more money for them, and more new models for us in the long run.
models like terminators, orgryns, stuff that uses the medium sized bases, we'll say is worth 1.2pts vs. the standard 1pt.
gotta run right now, but I'll respond in depth to all the latest posts when I get home tonight. if you've posted a 'sign me up' post, consider it done, though it won't show in the initial post of the thread until tonight when I can update it.

cool, and so is their 2 categories or something? not at this point; just the primary bracket. we'll see however, and it wouldn't suprise me if a casual painters bracket emerged. last years casual painters bracket was a pretty stunted affair to be honest and I'd rather just keep it to the main bracket this year. Another size question. Rat Ogres, Ogryns and other stuff in that size class. Infantry or cavallery points? medium sized bases (terminators/ogryns) have been added under the infantry scoring rules (they're 1.2pts for a fully painted model vs. just 1pt for standard infantry). if you have something on a big base then you can go ahead and assume it falls into the walker/small vehicle catagory - I reserve the right to classify it as a bike/cavalry model for scoring purposes however if it's not walker sized. Ohh, does this inculude WFB? if this does, then, I belive its time to break out the Rats. Any GW model is in.

it was the people who got knocked out in the first showdown who had limited time in real life to paint so had no chance of winning vs. those of us who can opt to paint 24/7 minus sleep hours.

at this time, I'd like to direct your attention to the second post in this thread. I've posted my complete army pics and ask that you all take a moment to check em out so you know how to do the same. posting a complete 'before' picture of your army is neccessary so that your claimed points can be verified vs the 'after' picture you'll post if you win. once your gains are verified, you'll be crowned winner and receive the prize pot.
the signup phase will last as long as it takes for everyone to get their army pics posted. when the last army pic is posted, the paintoff will officially commence! please refrain from painting minis to be scored in the paintoff until the contest actually commences - this is leaving it to your sense of honor not to submit a 'before' pic and then get painting since your starting mark has been established. it should be noted though, that people will paint, and after they submit their 'before' pic, why should they stop? I won't refuse you points for any model that you've painted after submitting your 'before' pic however.

Ok. Here is the stuff I have at my apartment. The few minis in the back are finished. Then from left to right: Mostly finished, primed or have to be reprimed, assembeled. The rest I have here is still in sprues or somewhere hidden deep, as single bitz, in my bitzbox (with a bit of luck I'll find the Nemesis Crown there as well ) You'll notice that there is no complety IG force or my Night Lords present. The Night Lords are sold and no longer in my possession while the Regarians (my first IG army) is about 300km away from my apartment in my room at my parents house. So the few minis I'll paint in that scheme I'll show you a more detailed before pic when I'm done with the minis. Oh and Tboy just one more size question. As you can see on my before pcs I have loads of Giant Rats for my Skaven. How much do they count?

I would also like to be included into this, although i don't have time to paint tons of minis at one time and i am currently trying to finish off an army for a tournament.I'll get on those Tallarins and paint them up as soon as i'm done with this army if thats ok.

added you to the roster of competitors, col. hengiest.
knight - I don't know which models are the giant scaven. if they're standard infantry bases then 1pt ea. if they're larger then more. if you want to post a pic of just a giant scaven with maybe a regular infantry based model in there as well for size comparison then I can quote you something more accurate.

you know you can claim assembly points if you just post the pic now right? work is work, though you don't get the assembly bonus until the models are finished being painted and scored.

well, ok, cant it be scouts honour? because i wont lie and i will post my chaos guys once they are all finished, which they almost are (only 1 bike and 8 chaos space marines, and when it arrives the termie lord) and GW has asked people not to post pictures of their box sets so yeah...

IfI had to post pics of all my sprues and bitz my bed wouldn't be large enough to place all parts... And fishki stop assembling now and take a picture from the stuff you already built. Everything else we can't see on the pic was still in sprues or your bitzbox. My pics only show the stuff I have assembled at my apartment. All the other stuff that isn't shown is either not built yet, or does belong to my first IG army and is in my room at my parents place...

you're welcome to begin painting - don't let this stop you from doing it. after posting your 'before' pic, any models you paint may be claimed for point credits - feel free to keep them in your back pocket as an ace up the sleeve if you want to. the only thing I ask is that you don't use stuff painted between posting your before pic and the competitions official start to bury your opponents and max out your daily point claims for a month then call an insane showdown. if someone is going strong and you've got some models that you've painted during this period that you were 'holding back' I would personally have no problem with you submitting them. so get busy!

I already have da cunning plan, boss. Where I won't need any backpocket as it will fill up quickly enough. The only thing I could start with is assembling and priming as this will take ages with all the Skaven... (the Skaven on the before pics are about 25%-40% of all Skaven I have)

A basic Skaven costs about as much as an Guardsman and Slaves only cost one third of that. So you can field about 200 minis in a 2000points match, including nasty Skaven weaponary that kills half of your Skaven
