Nice Suzuki. I really like the black and white petterns and symbols. The Sniper is too cool for words. Good use of the SM scout plastics.

Okay guys, I need you opinion here. this is my rather pathetic attempt to make some cheap scratchbuild night vision goggles. What do you think, is it worth the extra work to do some for each of my Guardsmen??? Cheers CC

Really liked the Sniper. Good work on that one. To your question about the night vision gogles. I think you should go for it if you find time for it. They look good enough and on the battle field on an arms length it will look really unique! Go for the gold!

Hi I modified the NVGs slightly by attaching them directly to the helmet, far less work this way. And I kind of started massproducing them: And I finished my first HW team: And finally the Hellhound: What do you think? Cheers CC

Really like the theme your going for here. Thumbs up. Question. How did you do the NVGs? Thinking of making a covert ops army, and this might be a way to go.

The NVGs are simply done. Cereal Box cardboard and the cut off head of an ordinary household pin. Cheap and easy to reproduce thus perfect for 'massproduction'. For a covert ops nightfighting unit I certainly would do a slightly bigger version with two eyepieces..

How did you make this sniper? I see a heavy weapon guy in there, how did you make the sniper rifle?

Looks like it, it's also a scout head, I really like the SM scout plastics because they could form the basis for loads of different IG conversions.

Just wanted to say you've done a great job. Sharp and effective uniforms. I've just started gaming again and have bought some guard and, after a frenzy of assembly, am at the point of wanting to get painting.
I'd like to attempt something similar and would really appreciate a brief idiots guide to how your painted your guardsmen. Nothing too fancy to waste your time - maybe just "undercoated white/black then started with a base coat of <name> Grey before dry brushing with..." or whatever.

Right then:
Black undercoat
Uniform+ Armour
Adeptus Battlegrey
Highlighted with
Codex Grey
Camo:
Astronomican Grey (light stripes)
Black Grey by Vallejo (dark stripes)
That's basically it. Easier than it might looks, give it a try, mate!
Cheers

Haha! Ciaphas Cain you are inspiring! I just got some new guard and I am thinking this: One squad urban, one squad desert commandos! Does it sound cool or what? Hmm.. I love that heavy weapon squad, those sand bags turned out neat.

WOW, lots of posts to read. They look absolutely awesome!!!! I'm tempted to steal your idea and repaint all my crappily painted models, but I wont lol. I really love the night vision goggles, im reminded of the halo 1 marines. Just a comment, the flag on the chimera looks awesome yes, but wouldnt it kinda defeat the purpouse of the tank being camoflauged?
