Great response Warmast Stabwhiskers.
We should live with what we get and be thankful.
I personnally like what I'm hearing about the new Codex. Just wish it would come sooner rather than later.
Now remember......the Emperor protects.

Since I went renegade a long while ago, I'd have to disagree with you on the last point.
I just hope they keep all the options for the doctrines. The manner they are employed is sounding to be a defintite improvement, but I also hope we will still have carapace armour, cameoline, chem inhalers, close order drill and so on.

RT The way I see and understand it that GW will be taking the doctrines and imposing their will on which sort of units are able to take them. Just as they did for equipment with the BA/DA, Ork, Chaos, and Demon codex. While this limits what units can take them, it will also have questions raised as in other codex about how the points have to be allocated (eg ork nob powerfist debate)

I dont see how the snipers got nerfed? so they hit on threes instead of twos. However now they have rending and still wound on a 4+, nuts ratlings also now get a 2+ cover save in almost anything. As long as we get a platoon that can take heavy flamers I am solid with the new rules. Finally incentive to make the rest of my regiment.

The new codex seems interesting so far. I do not think there is a danger of having 9 leman russes on the field. I am pretty sure GW will have some restrictions. ( I wonder if I can get 9 demolishers....hmmm.....) Sounds like the infantry will be quite flexible. News of new vehicles is always good...... I will take twenty *hugs her Vindicare tightly* ;D

I killed a tooled-up Force Commander who'd already lost a wound with a lasgun. Not a volley of lasfire, one lasgun. Unluckiest 1 I've ever seen rolled. He wasn't even mad, he was laughing with us.

Oh dear... I really liked doctrines too!
Dam... I hope they keep an option for giving carapace to all your infantry squads... I always wanted to make an army entirely in carapace just to look cool (I really gave up caring about winning or losing, as long as its stylish!) and it was just too expensive. and now when plastic stormies come out, my dream is near realisation and all the tension... I really hope they don't...
plastic valkyries rock though, I'm getting as many as I can, all deepstriking army with a few vehicles other than sentinels will be nice. not sure about the tank squadrons, they blow up if they get immobilised?!
I really hope they sort something out new for special rules for tanks, coz with that new rules for defensive weapons strength 4... there goes the mobility for my conqueror squadron... oh well...
I hope they add some female heads onto the sprues; they'd just need to add the heads, not change the torsoes really or they'd just end up looking like sister's of battle with less fleyr de lis (i think thats how you spell it). I just like the idea of women fighting too from fluff and everything... equal rights! we want to shoot orks and 'nids too!

Had a thought today regarding the tanks and the new movement requirements.
We know that the new movement will not allow for ordinance to move and fire. However, if they keep in line with the apocalypse releases we just may see the redesignation of the LR battle cannon now being a main weapon versus being ordinance which would keep in line with the idea of moving and firing the main weapon.

Have you heard anything regarding new Special characters? New Fluff? Backround on new Regiments? I'll be dissapointed if there's little or no fluff in the new Codex.
The new rules are swings and round-a-bouts from what I can gather. There are a few points I'd like to bring up:
i) I am not happy with the rules for the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is a flyer. GW should keep it like that. The skimmer rules simply won't do the model justice. The way the flyer rules work are awsome. These rules really summerise what I'd imagine aircraft in the 41st Millenium to look like.
ii) I hope the new codex will encourage players to use a wider range of models. I am so bored with seeing only Cadian-esqe armies. I don't blame people for collecting Cadians. They are the only affordable IG minins around. perhaps special rules for certain Regiments. I.g) Mordians, Tallarn......
iii) I am also annoyed about what I'm hearing regarding the Plastic Storm troopers. I really hope they aren't Kaskrin-esqe. Like I mentioned before, the Cadians get all the lime-light. Generic Plastic Storm troopers would be very cool, Models which all regiments could field. Kaskrin only look good alongside Cadians in my opinion. Bring back the old boiler suit style ones.
iv) I am also annoyed to hear about the Demolisher. I really do not understand why GW is wasting so much time and money redoing perfectly good models. The money GW is spending on producing anther Demolishers model could go toward making a new Tank.
By the way, how many pages is the new codex going to be? When will it be out?

I would love and embrace the plastic stormies. Imagine the conversion possibilities with the cadian models!

The Valkrie is supposed to be a plastic model to be released. Along with another platsic release of the drop pod for the Smurfs.
To respond to the fact that people don't use other regiments... I for one do not play with any cadian troops in my army. In fact, I spent 4 years collecting models before finally being able to put to field a full female guard army. After much conversion and just this weekend during a tournament I won best themed army. It was totally worth it. What I see on many of the IG armies out there is a good number of Cadian forces, but the serious modeler/player convert GW models into their own vision of their IG army. It takes a lot of time considering we are converting 100+ models in order to have our dreams on the field, but an effort well worth it in the end.
The reason for the Cadian getting all the lime light is because of the fluff behind them. Just don't be fooled into thinking that they are the only guard army out there.

Ohoh!! quite interesting piece of news!!!! If it were to be released by december, it should be in a good way by now, GW may be in the final stages of the main book and idea and they will start playtesting in a few weeks....
About the fact that there are alot of cadianesque armies, I agree with you Dude. I have heavily converted my troops (and finishing...) for more than a year now and I find it so exciting when you have the final result: it takes time but ones it is done you are very proud and have a unique army corresponding to your feeling, the way you imagine your troops, fluff and so on...
You seem to have a good intelligence service mate, can't wait to have other news!

Thanks for the greeting Lordcastellenjon yeah, ok I know this might be for a drop troop forum, but anyway, I think the new rules really help out light vehicles (drop sentinels!) because of the new damage table... armoured crew compartment is actually worth it now! a mere 15 points to grant a full immunity to bolters! and hopefully valkyries won't count as open topped... I hate gauss flayers... *grumble grumble* but the shooting past your own units is so useful... think of it, your heavy weapon teams can shoot the enemy until they're a smouldering pile of blood and gore and still get a 4+cover save themselves... now then... I wonder if the leave cameleoline in the codex... that would be great go to ground with cameleoline behind a line of conscripts! 2+ cover save!

I'm hoping (as a minor note, and pure unconfirmed speculative rumor) that the medics will function in the same way as the new marine medics with being able to treat any model within 6" as opposed to the current rules which leaves them only able to effect models in their squad.
