wondering if plastic mordians are going to be produced, but knowing gw, its hiley likely they wont because there only interested in money, and making new crap like the vostroyans and not bringing back the old regiments in plastic, which is doubly anoying because the old regiments are a 100% better than the crappy vostroyans. oh, and any thorts about which of the old regiments will be put into plsatic.

It'd be great to see some plastic sets of guardsmen in dress uniforms, not that I'm biased or anything! But I'm not going to hold my breath.

As someone else pointed out in another thread, the Vostroyans (and the Steel Legions) were both introduced for a specific campaign GW was running at the time. I think the plastic Cadians were introduced during the Eye of Terror campaign (not sure though), to replace the metal minis. I think our only hope for converting a metal range to plastics is if they feature them in a campaign again (and our new codex IS coming out near the begining of next year's summer campaign....) Don't get your hopes up though. The SM 'dex didn't have anything that could compare to releasing an army in plastic for the IG codex, and the smurfs would probably get the best of the lot. If any regiments DO get turned into plastic, I'd have to say it'd be a toss-up between the Mordians, who (as far as I know) have never been featured in an actual campaign, and the Steel Legions, who are, from what I've seen, one of the most popular metal ranges. Unless they release plastic Praetorians, which would have everyone here wetting thier pants

Preatorians, Steel Legion, and Voystrians were campaign minis (not 100% sure but I think I read that somewhere. Also not 100% sure if plastic Cadians were replacement for the metal ones during Eye of Terror as they used only metal figs in the Codex: Eye of Terror and the Codex Battlezones: Cityfight which were released about the same time

How GW could reintroduce ALL these minis:
1. Praetorians + Mordians: By releasing a conversion kit of 'Dress torso' similar to that of the tank commander sprue. And some plastic heads to convert with-peaked cap plastic heads 2. Steel Legion: Buy DKoK. 3. Salvar chem-dogs- some bareheaded models with respirators. 4. Terrax Guard- either buy DKoK and stick aforementioned peaked cap heads on them, or stick peakedcap heads on Cadian bodies and convert them. 5. Tallarns: All they need are there own set of plastic heads.

Looking at page 141 of the new rulebook the first thing I noticed was how similar the Mordian, Tallarn and Steel Legion uniforms were. The only real difference in the uniforms being headwear and shoulders. Mordian plastics could quite easily spawn off into other armies with simple head and arm conversion sets.

Just release unvested torsos and a range of heads. That would be my paradise

Some Praetorian players I know found a source for some plastic miniatures which can be converted into Praetorians. Wargames Factory has a set of 20 Plastic miniatures of British soldiers from the Zulu war, I've heard they are just slightly smaller than cadians. Here's some pictures of the Sprunes: Here are the conversions that one guy made: "This figure is WF standard body and head. The shoulder strap bits have been cut short to come level with the area the arm has to be glued on. Both arms used are from a GW Cadian sprue and have just been hollowed out a bit with a round file (the type used by modellers around the globe). I specifically have chosen for a position of the arms that didn't need any filling with putty, so it's just: - cut the shoulder straps level with the body - file out the GW arms - glue together & paint " The Colonial British set is Available at www.thewarstore.com/product43048.html for about $14.00, plus whatever they charge for shipping. I got most of this info from: www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/219323.pageAnd finally, this: uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/praetorian-IG/message/308 is possibly the largest congress of Praetorian players on the internet at present. No one seems to be active at the moment, but since it started in 2005 its had 98 members here and there.

not bad, my thoughts are that it could be better if he chopped the guy in half and gave him cadian legs.

Hmmm, Mordians would be easy to make as 1 piece plastics
Ive considered that GW should make several Rulebook packs like the Battle for Skull Pass with different races.
Imperial Guard (Mordian Iron guard, 1 piece guardsmen, storm troopers, Command, Heavy Weapons vs Chaos (One piece Bezerkers, Tzeentch, Plague marines and a Lord or Sorceror)
Eldar (Iyanden, 1 Piece Guardians, Wraithguard, Scorpians and an Autarch or maybe even an Avatar) vs Tyranids (lots of 1 piece gaunts, genestealers, Warriors, Lictors)
Tau ( 1 piece firewarriors, Stealth suits, Commander, Kroot, Vespid) vs Dark Eldar (1 piece Warriors, Wytches, Talos, Mandrakes, Grotesques and a Lord/Haemonculus)
Each with the mini rulebook, dice and wacky sticks.
I think it'd be a hit, GW could bring out some of the simple things which are in metal (Wraithguard) and some new stuff (Mordians) which would be quite simple. It would make Vets buy multiple boxes aswell as newcomers, and would allow greater variation.

neither do i, 1 pieces are hard to convert, and lack variety. Bottom line, they lack potential for the average converter

all plastic one piece guardsmen are at least easier to convert then one piece all metal guardsmen.
but don't get me wrong, I love multipart all plastic kits.

true, but in general, multi is better. Why do you think the Inquisitor Players (SG, not army) complained so much when the Vindicare and Eversor Assassin models were released.

First off, what does SG, not army, mean?
My next thing to say, tho, is you know what's worse than all metal models or single piece plastics? multi part models with both plastic and metal parts! gaaaaaah! I hate those buggers!

If I wanted single piece guardsmen I'd go to the dollar store and by the little green and brown guys by the bag full.
