ssgtdude (M.I.A): If I do that, I think GW will send me the SAS to kill me...fanwork for your own is ok, but never make money with it... Basaliskian: Next year, there will be a meltagun, too.. The Tank, no, becuase its only allowed to use it on private property...means I must transport an tank by truck/tankmover to the place the gamesday takes part, I need an special order from the police and the administration to handle the transport...only with an wheeled tank with max.7.5to of complete weight I can ride innercity....its not so easy in germany tankshock: Hehe..... ;D Greets Watts

The Refined Gentleman (M.I.A): No, there is no society in germany...we are the first group in germany do 40k in the way of reeactors, with heavy duty equipment, not with latex and other typical larp material. Some single persons have good ideas and equipment but they are mostly cosplayers....I hope that pics postet by myself activate some people all over the world to do it in the same way... ;D 3ff3ct: Thats not the problem, thinking about crazy works and operations is one of my best discipline ;D But sometimes there is an brake called money... There are many ideas...thinking about an hydra emplacement scale 1:2....made of steel.. Count Elakor : Do´nt get nervous...wait , I would test next months an new version of the armour, done by aramid/kevlar... If that is ok, its more easier to do than the steel version... But normaly, I work without plans...only pics from the GW or Forge models and the artworks... Correct drawings I have done only for the M36 Lasgun and the heavy bolter...the rest ist freestyle... ;D Greets Watts

can you suggest materials etc for someone to use if they dont have the skill necesarily for the other stuff. Cause I've always wanted to do something like this. but my idea for the Lasgun was wood. what tools do you have?

Hmm...at first, what is your using of the equipment, only cosplay..or like real using storming hills etc...?? The smallarms...lasguns, boltpistols, automatic pistols made out of steel sheet, thickness 1,5mm. The bigger weapons made by 2mm sheets. Barrels are made by different standard water tubes. The main tools you ever need to work in the same way as I do is:
1. The ultimative weapon against an empty weapons arsenal....one, two or more ankle grinders.. ;D 2. At next, I use an gas protecting welding equipment...its easier and faster if you work with thin sheets than the electrical welding. 3. I use an electrical sheet cutter, can use that up to 2mm . 4. An powerfull drilling machine. 5. I had an lathe in use, but you can cut the tubes with the ankle grinder.....you need such a machine not absolutly.
Then you need some standart tools, like hammer, drills, polish(file)
I think you can improvise something , instead using welding, you can do it with rivetts.
If you use wood, take an hard and heavy wood....you would´nt like it, if you work with...but you love it if it smacks the first time on an rock in the forrest you run through for the Empire ;D
I will do little handmade sketches from welded pieces of the M36... Greets Watts

Another way is, laminate it with glas fibre...you can do this shock proofed and you need not so much tools to do it. An core done by wood or an lightly material to form the body...barrel made made by an steel tube, magazin from a real weapon ( the french MAS Magazin looks very imperial). You can use an Stock from an softair weapon....I think it is the simplest way to get an good looking weapon. The fastest way is costumizing an softair....but we don´t use weapons with any functions( only the assault cannon, that beast rotates... ) Greets Watts

Hmmm, alright, best start saving then. you should get in contact with GW and ask them about gaining permision to make this for a profit. It could be cool.

on the tank note actually. do you still need permision, even if it can't fire and is investigated by an official?

Inquisitor Lord Graenis: In germany, I can´t get any permission to use an tank on public streets( If he rides on steel chains). The weapons must be removed or demil.. But a friend of mine, rides an wheeled fox with an 30mm cannon(demil.) sometimes he rides to the supermarket... ;D In germany there is an weapons law called "It looks like an war-weapon" this is the reason why we gets on every event an permission at the police station to build up our camp...its the best protection against having big problems....talking to the police, BEFORE you doing that! Basaliskian : This is not a staff car...but it is my car ;D....not cadian painted only german army but I like it .... greets Watts

nice akak truck, i can see it helping to protect a convoy from aerial attack.
You know the cadian guards man torso armour, how easy do you think it would be to make out of plasticard, because it's part of basaliskian uniform. Plasticard because don't have the skill or equipment to use steel. Thanks, basaliskian.

Why not, but take an shockproofed material. Or you can use foam and latex like this guys from germany, building up an larp equipment for marine scouts.... Yesterday I talk to an specalist for laminate with glasfibre... I Think in the beginning of the next year my drop troop equip are on the way.....this week I got the material , next week I´ll finisch the elysian heavy Bolter and then I´ll build up an form for the elysian body armour...the aramide I use is an shockproofed material NOT the same aramid used by the military ( That type is bulletproofed) Greets Watts

Why not in steel..hehehe... ;D ok, little joke to start the conversation... I´m not crazy, only a little bit overdressed but my next armour(elysian) is´nt soooo heavy like the current cadian one... Currently there is no way to get new pics, but I´d send an E-mail to one of the armour- builder...he says , they would build up an webpage with the complete history of the making ,to show everybody the how- to- do....I don´t know how much time this needs Greets Watts
