Hello, I´m new at this place, coming from germany and I´m not a gamer.. I´m build an complete Kasrkin armour in steel and some other toys based in the cadian and imperial style. I´ll show some pics from the equipment.... The weapon is an combined weapon, hellfire lasgun with folding stock and an bolter fixed like an grenade launcher the autocannon is an mixture, the older GW style in wheeled version, but the barrel and round mag is the current style.. Ahh...all weapons are dummys, because in germany we have very ........hmmm ....weapons law Greets watts Well you are not a gamer and then Out Geeked us all! Words fail! Some other impressions... Myself without a respirator......securing on a patrol The shelter with turret in the firebase.. Gamesday 2006 public street behind the building, handover of the personal weapons greets watts And people make a big deal about the SW Storm Troopers here.

Hehe only if you are doing them in STEEL !...By the way could you do a short small firearms test on a shooting range when you finished with one of your armors...want to know if they are as resistent as ours *g*... If you are doing Vacuum formed stuff make sure that you made the right size armor...here we have a good example...the complete armor is spot on...but the legarmor is a little bit too big making it looking comicle... Good luck on the vacuforming and show us some pics when you are ready. Spot on.

No Prob.
I'll see what I can do. Planning on making one set bullet resistant for myself.
Then again you are talking to someone who actually read the little care and maintainance guide of his flak armor when I was in the Air Force. First page, third paragraph, bold faced type "This armor will not protect you from small arms fire. However, it may..." The last page was almost something else that is just as funny. A record of hit. Asked name rank, duty, what your unit was, what you were doing, what you got hit by and the funniest question. Were you able to continue your duty.
It was a self addressed prepaid sheet as well. One of the reasons I find the Imperial guard Infantrymans Uplifting Primer so funny is that is exactly how the military operates to begin with.

Yeah, the torso armor and shoulder cops look a bit too small as well. For costuming purposes I would be fine with doing them in plastic, though I would have a tendancy to do them in polycarbonate if I had to do plastic. I have done vacuum forming before and I know how to master blanks for production... Anyways, if I was going to be making the armor for myself I would have a tendency towards using hand layered composites myself, though that can be cost prohibitive and takes a long time for each piece making it impractical to more than just a one off. I am, however, going to be working on a steel curiase with (eventually) a fully sculpted and cast brass Aquilla in the high gothic style to work onto the chest of the piece for my ongoing Commissar outfit. If you are wondering about the cast piece I am starting to dabble in basic foundry work and casting. I will post some pics once I make some actual progress.

oh sorry to double post, but people emntioned how dedicated some starwars fans can get? and how there are big regiments of starwars troopers like the www.501st.com well it's small right now, but a few friends of mine are trying to form a forum and website based around that concept for 40k. dubbed the obscurus crusade, z6.invisionfree.com/Obscurus_Crusadei am skeptical we could get anything as well organized as watts has in germany, but still the work watts does regarding all this, does inspire others to keep pushing forward.

Now, I nearly finished the first of my long barrel hydra AC. My first prototype was not the right one....this ist the current style I´ll use for the "serial production". Little details are still missing ( camo, painting of the ejection cover, used look , and the rounds...) Greets Watts

Awesome, as always. Are you making a Hydra tank now? Or just a turret?

Not a tank, the turret will be mounted on a army trailer....in firing position it looks like the forge emplacement field cross base. I´ll remove the barrels for transport, towing the gun with my truck. Greets Watts
