Both of the new Battleforces are amazing as well...
Command Squad 20 troopers 3 Heavy weapon teams 1 new SEXY sentinel
Both Cadian and Catachan variants! Epic Win.

I would much rather get a command squad and sentinal in a BF then a leman russ. Its a troop choice in a box, plus a Fast Attack slot.

I'm liking the sound of the battleforce.
It should be something that really gets you started, so should include an H.Q. It's a complete army-in-a-box now! (well, a small one anyway. I still wouldn't mess with it)

I'm going to be picking up several of those BattleForces over the course of the next couple of years. It should be a good enough price break on them to offset the increase in the cost of basic Guardsmen.

At first sound, it looks bad not getting the Russ. But with my plans to pick up a 20 box and a battleforce here soon just to flesh out my current platoons; this new battleforce will let me build new platoons and get sentinels.

I like the new battleforce. I'll never buy sentinels on their own, but hey, they sell leman russ in boxes of three...

I haven't heard anything about them being resculpted, but my guess is that GW is putting more special weapons in the sprues, and possibly heavy weapons (but that has recently been disputed, heavily. who knows...) and they're definatly going to be sold in boxes of 10 guardsmen for $22 (about 11 British Pounds, I think)

Definately £12 for 10 guard, nice that we are going to be getting a command squad in the battleforce, not so nice that we are losing the russ (cadians) but getting a sentinel instead.
OK, I'm sure this is posted elsewhere, but I was told today that guardsmen are now going to be 4pts per model? is this true do you reckon? Oh by the way my mate the smurf lover is doing his nut over the ap3 hellguns, if that turns out to be true. XXI

yea, 4 pts has got to be true for sure. That's what I've heard from countless sources.
And as for AP3 hellguns - he damn well better be afraid! *sly grin*

I recently called the 1-800 number for US GW, and here's some things I learned:
Dark Eldar WILL be getting some love soon.
Inquisition Codex seems to have been shelved for now.
No longer will GW be breaking up boxes to send replacements. For example, I noticed a 12-man Necron box I bought was missing 3 legs, 2 Torsos, and 2 Heads. I called them up and now I'm getting a whole new box.

Ymmot (M.I.A): you could use guard, and have your stormies from your WH/DH army as the guard stormies, and take Sisters as allies. From a representational outlook, it works

Wait...people actually play dark eldar? I thought they were just a myth.
I'm assuming they will be releasing erratta for the DH/WH Codex, but then again, GW never has ceased to amaze me. Otherwise Inquisitorial ST's will be a pretty useless pointdump.

4pts for a guardsmen will be nice, I can't wait to see what we'll have to pay for conscripts! I cannot wait any longer to get my hands on the new models, but I've said it before, that new commisar is almost exactly the same as the one with the bolt pistol and riding crop, even his face seems to look the same, he just has a fancier cloak. Maybe he got promoted? Just my opinion, not that it counts for much. XXI

Wait...people actually play dark eldar? I thought they were just a myth. With the Druchi, that's probably what they wanted you to think. Now, excuse me... *Pulls a splinter round out his shoulder, before charging out to fight the marauding aliens*

These are awesome shots, however I have a quick question. A runor about Heavy Weapons being removed from units still pops up from time to time...can anyone comment on this? With the sight of the Heavy Flamer bit, I would think this is wrong-intel!

I have never heard this once, and that is most likely completely wrong. I have, however, heard confirmation from someone who had read the codex that we can have all of this in a single platoon:
1 command squad 2-5 Infantry squads of 10 men 0-5 Heavy weapons squads 0-2 special weapon squads (SIX SNIPERS PER PLATOOON!!! ;D) 0-1 conscript squad (maybe it's still a mosh pit of 20 to 50, but most likley it's just a force bolster)
So, that means we can have in total...*does math*...*does some more*...*gives up*...A LOT, OF FREAKING, GUARDSMEN!!!

@sniper: I think that was just a garbled reaction to the news that Heavy Weapons teams are probably not going to be included in the basic Squad boxes. I've not heard anything about basic Squads not being able to take Heavy Weapons.
