I agree, we should get an option to upgrade rough riders to bikers.

If I were to start playing with Rough Riders, I'd mount 'em on bikes for fluff purposes while moving them as cavalry.
What would make more sense would be to have a scout unit mounted on bikes (so lightly armored, lightly armed, but fast as hell). Maybe make them count as part of any unit for friendly LoS purposes?
Personally, I would like most, if not all, of the Doctrines appear as unit options. That would probably make just about everyone on this board happy (Especially with people who use creative armies like Ssgtdude).

"Say hello to General Motors, Ford. You have horses!"

I would have liked to see the option to swap Lasguns out for Shotguns. Oh, and the Autocannon and Twin Heavy Bolter Turrets for Chimeras. I would happily trade half the new Tanks for those.

WestRider ... agreed, an option to mounting a Lascannon or Auto cannon on the chimera would be good. More so if they were twinned. ;D As for the rough riders, well they do exist but if you want them on something other than horse/beast back then scratch build them. Make what fits yer fluff. @ John Galt If your rough riders are on penny fathings perhaps you could whack a Multi Laser on a silver cross perambulator and have it count as a sentinel Just a thought. That's what I'm doing and ... bloody hell ... it takes ages to get them to look good. Romour has it that a cadian style rough rider kit is coming out in wave 2 so we could all wait 'til then. The real thing I'm hoping for is a slight change in the rules for the rough riders. What makes sense if you're a weak human charging into Orks, SMurfs, necrons or anything tougher than you. Hit and run. Charge in, take out some some terminators with some I5 S5 ignore armour saves hunting lance Kung-Fu and get out sharpish. You're not going to want to hang around to see what the enemy survivors do. Hoping that this Al Rahem chap can allow something like that. I'll let you know in 30 days.

I would have liked to see the option to swap Lasguns out for Shotguns. If you were a commander, would you arm an entire army (or even just an entire platoon) with a close quarters weapon? I wouldn't. The Imperial Guard, my friends, as most of you know, is meant to represent realistic armies from our very own planet earth. No army has ever in the history of the world only consisted of units with shotguns. Now, as you know, there have been ways in the past to equip your army with alternate gear, such as pistols and swords (or hell, just a pair of swords and no pistol representing some older armies from a medieval style world, but the reason that guard armies will never ever have the option of equipping as many squads as you want with shotguns is because the rifle is the basic weapon and is also the most diverse! It can shoot at the long range of 24" It can fire rapidly at close range You get a lot of them and the fluff behind the rifle for entire armies: You can fix a bayonet to it, doubling as a melee weapon you can adjust the length of certain patterns, making them ideal for different situations Reliability - shotguns jam. A lot. A lasgun never jams.

I'd like to see a shotgun option. While I'd never give them to my full army, it would be nice to have a squad or two of arbites running around.

Shotguns have got their place. in the 80's the British forces changed from the SLR to SA80 as the basic rifle. There was a case put forward that all non-security Air Force personel should get SMG's and Shotguns instead as more often than not any fighting they do will be defensive and in a close quarters environment. The suggestion was rejected when it was highlighted that unless they were using solid shot they are against the Geneva Convention which forbids expanding ammunitions from small arms.

They jumped the shark by not including ciaphas cain or gaunt, the commissar lord doesnt have the options to really make them.
I would also of liked field guns like the US M-138, so that light infantry forces could have non tank support!

I mostly want the Shotgun option so I could use the list for my Chaos Cultists, a large proportion of whom have Shotguns. blackarmchair: Note that I said half of the new Tanks. I love my Exterminators and Executioners.

I'll tell you what should have been in our army: a $35 20-man boxed set, that's what should have been there!

its like bringing a bazoka to a knife fight
the reason the cimeara dosent have a lascanon is because it would be to power full a transport is not ment for anti tank the hevey bolters and otocanon are infentrey suport wepons im intrested in a twin linked hevy bolter or an otocanon the points will be the desider for me

I light field gun would be fun! Totally WWI. I Just had a great idea! You could make one and just use it as a missile launcher in a squad! You've got frag and AT shells now ;D Oh I am so making one as soon as I actually have any free time. (And praying I don't have to fight anyone with a howitzer, the Brits learned that the hard way unfortunatly)

They jumped the shark by not including ciaphas cain or gaunt, the commissar lord doesnt have the options to really make them. You can give the commisar lord a camo cloak and a powersword and a bolt pistol, voila gaunt. and he's even more badass, because he will kill you
