Anyway, I've made another awesome shottie, in my attempt to fight the system that says my shotgun is S3. I'll likely give it to Angels. Oh, well... You could always give it to your SM Scouts. Lord knows it would be better than them having Sniper Rifles... Reds I just plan to tell my opponent that every rifle counts as a bolter. Seriously, how hard would it have been to say "Exchange BOTH bolter and bolt pistol for sniper rifle. If taken, scouts are BS4?" Humbug. I'm still considering restarting my scout army. Scouts, souts on bikes, landspeeder storm, and some kind of HQ... Anyway, I'm just posting to say that I have not once again abandoned the brush and knife. I'm merely doing stuff that isn't worthy of a picture update. I've also got a template set up for sculpting the trench coats. If anyone has helpful tips on doing a heavy fabric with gs, I'd appreciate it. Also, I'm ready to prime Dante. And I bought two Ravenwing box sets. And I've bought three more chimeras that will be my hellhounds. Mmmm, hellhounds/devil dogs/banewolves... Also, I can run a mechanized platoon with 45 guys in my (soon to be) five chimera motor pool.

Double power fist guy is fantastic! I imagine him fighting by just spinning round really fast with his arms out ;D The shotgun is great too - what part have you used to make the end of it? I recognise the bolter / GL parts...

Save them for guys who look like they can handle it. These shotguns are ungodly huge. Also, they have no stock. That's why I only gave it to 'Straken.'

That "nifty converted shotgun" is very badass and looks like something very near and dear to the enemy's heart is going to die

That "nifty converted shotgun" is very badass and looks like something very near and dear to the enemy's heart is going to die Why thank you. And tomorrow (today, but after I get up again...) I will share my current project. And a question about how I should base it.

Yeah. Me and my broken promises...
I decided how to base it, and that's why it wasn't up. It'll be up later this week.

I like the powersword! Is that a kind of blended effect on it? Or is it just a trick of the angle? The track trail on the base is pretty cool too, but what's the orange stuff? Hope this doesn't mark a departure from your IG

Face close-up of the captain on bike? Sure. Give me a day or two.
Power sword has a slight blending effect. I may add highlights to it. The orange stuff is the gravel found on Tellius. The bases of all my guard and that biker will get snow on them eventually...
Not so much a departure from IG, as continuing my marines. I like Imperial stuff and Necrons. Anything else is filthy and heretical. Necrons are probably heretical, but they're cool enough to compensate...

could i ask if youve been using some sort of enamel paint in the first few pics of this thread? just the paint looks very thick and glossy, even has the silicon effect you get when you paint something and the paint will not adhere to places and leaves bubbled 'dimples' all over, just a bit of CC, the pics after you mentioned getting new brushes however are very nice and a million times better.

Enamel paint is a part of my technique. And yes, having good brushes that don't look like a Brillo pad can help in every way: neatness, blending, and texture. Those 'dimples' might be a result of the primer I used. On the outside edges of the spray, the pigment part dries before it hits the mini. These end up being flecks of texture 'glued' to the surface. I like it for my guard, actually. I want them to look gritty.

Good colour scheme. I like putting bands or stripes on tanks. If not then a plain single colour. I'm not too sure about using enamels. They are thick paint and have to be thinned with turpentine. Acrylic paints thin easily with water, allowing for lots of thin coats to be applied. Have you tried the foundation red colour? Loved that SM biker BTW

I should re-iterate: I use airbrush enamels. They don't need to be thinned unless they start to dry out. And I have universal enamel thinner for that, so that it has a minimal effect on the finish. No, I have not tried foundation red, but why would I use it on a white-based guard scheme or a gunmetal-based marine scheme?
This morning, I had an idea about how to do my tanks... I shall sponge crazy washes on them! *insert maniacal laughter here*

They should be awesome once they're painted. Stay tuned!

Are those rough riders for imperial guard? Or are you just calling them rough riders for fun?

They're rough riders. And I learned something interesting the other day: when they're charged, they don't use the lances. So if you feel lucky, you can let them be charged by a unit on which you don't want to waste the lances.
