This a thread for the Sisters of Battle, the only power-armored females in the entire 40k Universe.
Inquisitors don't count.

I have around 1500 points worth from the Order of Our Martyred Lady (red and black with boltgun highlights)
one of these days I'll take them on a solo battle, but for now I've only ever used them as support for my IG, my list thus far is just a few squads in rhinos, 5 sisters and a cannoness in a immolator, a squad of veteran sisters with a heavy bolter, and a squad of repentia with a priest.
anyway...battle sisters are fun to paint.

I got only a squad of five Seraphim thus far (still in their box and at a friend's...), but I hope to use them at least as allies soon.

If you find it ambiguious then your mind is in the gutter and a SOB has every right to smack you up side the head with a power.
You will have to tell me though ymmot do they giggle when the brush tickles??

Nope, Sisters of Battle don't giggle, Actually I don't really see what is all that attractive about getting murdered by some psycho chick with a huge gun in bulky armor... (*thinks about it* wait...yeah ok maybe.) but that is beside the point! I'm pretty sure they're chasted... except maybe the repentina, which would probably be one good reason to be come repentia to begin with(trust me guys it isn't worth it, suicide issues...) yeah, but they're still fun to paint.

You got it ymmot, The SOB are chased. Chased around the chruch, the pews, across the battle field.
Sister's Repentia just happen to be the ones who now want to chase.
Of course, the Amazonian army is also chased as well. Guess, the girls are going to have to stop holdingthe wet t-shirt contests around the Cadian tents from now on.

I might got a deal coming up that would make me score enough Sisters to form a decent core army to mix with my current IG for less than half retail price.

They're my primary army. In fact, I wrote the BnC tactica on Sisters, heh, though there's more experienced people out there than I-- I'm an army list builder primarilly, though I DO have a sizeable army.
My scheme is:
Dark blue armor Mid-Light blue robes Golden Trim Gunmetal Weapons

My sister's are in white, mother of pearl armor with gold trim. They have white hair.
Although, some have been known to be chainmail and violet. =) *nudge nudge*

2500 points of the useless wenches most of the time there normal human strength and toughness tends to get them punched to death in CC or shot to death by rapid shooting, but i still love them i just wish that sisters repentia didn't just look good they actually did something. and mine are in red and grey with chain mail coloured armour.

black, red, boltgun...
I didn't try to be too creative with my SOBs color scheme...
I gave em a bunch of subtle hair colors though!

Excuse me Sammy, useless? Try telling that to all the Marine squads, both Chaos and Loyalist, that my Sisters have utterly devastated in a single round of rapid fire shooting-- their damage potential at 2"-12" is higher than any single Marine squad, point per point.
Their survivability is far higher as well, especially once the squad size gets smaller-- Spirit of the Martyr allowing the entire squad to have 3++ saves and all. And they won't retreat, because they're stubborn at either leadership 9 or 10 (Book of St. Lucius). More than stubborn really, they also are hard to pin too.
My Sisters have taken on the toughest close combat armies in 40K and won. It's an old army list, but it still works if you know how to play it.

One of the best things about Sisters is in the FAQ.
p18 ‘Shield of Faith’. Ignore the reference to ‘Minor Psychic Powers’.
If you read the sentence without the Minor psychic powers is states Psychic powers have no effect on adeptus soritas
Nice right??

That's because minor psychic powers no longer exist. All psychic powers are considered major psychic powers and are effected by Shield of Faith as normal.

Bolters which can become AP1 on a to-wound roll of six. The common Sororitas can strike at S5 I1, or S3 I5. The veterans (Celestians, Seraphim) can strike at S3 I6, faster than pretty much anything short of a Harlequin or Avatar. They are nearly impossible to force into fleeing off the battlefield, and even if they are routed at an extremely small model count they can regroup. Their jump troops have the best hit and run rule in the game-- they don't have the make an initiative check. Seraphim also have twin-linked pistols that count as two close combat weapons. There's only ONE model in C:IG that can claim that, and he's a special character, while this is a normal FoC choice, an entire unit of them. They resist all negative psychic powers, even Tyranid psychic powers which ignore other kinds of resistance. They're stubborn at LD9 or LD10 on any good build, and the standard setup of Meltagun / Heavy Flamer makes each of their squads capable of handling almost any kind of enemy.
Sisters are far from useless, unless (and hopefully this isn't too offensive) you're incapable of using them properly.

But Sisters, like many older army lists, are harder to use properly than the new ones as new ones allow you to make slight mistakes due to holding upperhand in bare points/stats/weaponry view. I myself don't play Sisters as I found Grey Knight rules more what I was looking for (Not using them as GK tho, but that's not the point) Still Sisters are totally usable and even powerful enough to match newer armylists if fielded right and played well, without those costy mistakes as they (like GK) have special rules & weaponry which, like the armylists themselves are powerful when used right. I think I should try to get WH book somewhere, can't remember all stuff anymore edit: Also they got the points for attitude -Raganrokian

don't want to change the topic, but: how useful is it to include a single sisters squad in a guard infantry heavy army?
Is it worth it?
