The Necrons were a daft idea to begin with, but since people play them (in some cases with no cheeseblocks- I mean, Monoliths at all), it would be downright uncouth of GW to drop them.
And if the Battle Sisters get dropped, I will be irked.

wait a sec necrons don't wear pants *gets spotlight and makes the requiem signal* What, what? What do you need, citizen? Ah, the Necrons don't wear pants? Indeed. I am well aware, as I have a 'cron army. Both the Nightbringer and Deceiver are pants-less as well. They're not under the jurisdiction of the Ministry... You'll have to chastise them on your own terms. Just make them phase-out, and you'll be good. Up, up, and away!!! I'm posting so that you can tell us without double posting. Failure to comply will result in immediate notification of the ministry of pants. Do you still need my services, citizens?

Personally I would really love to see "The Lost and the Damned" get a major rework and a codex of thier own. There is just so much potential there, not to mention the fact that in all the fluff the vast bulk of the forces of chaos are traitor humans, yet we very rarely see that played out on the tabletop.
If I were doing the codex I would keep it somewhat along the same lines as the new IG codex, while leaving out orders and Regimental advisors. I would limit the number and type of tanks available, but make up for it with the Defiler and giving an option to include a limited number of CSM or demon units. I realize you can essentially field a traitor army with the IG list, Bloodpact as stormtroopers/vets, traitor guard, and cultists represented by conscripts, but I think it would add so much more to be able to include some of the demons and CSM units that personify a Chaos force.

i heard from some friends in GW that WFB will be getting chaos dwarfs in the next three yrs and 40K will possibly get two new codexes but the fighting for hich one it will be is on. The list contains adeptus mechanicus, lost and the dammed, squats (but he doubts it) or a new alien race. There are more but he didnt tell me any.

I'm rooting for AdMech, because they will get knights as heavy support choices,
Knights: cooler than a dreadnought and more portable than a titan ;D

I want to see a codex that focuses on Horus Heresy era war styles. I know you would have a limited number of proper enemies, but honestly there are a TON of people that would like to see some of the old style armor and weapons come back into play. And I'm not talking about the crappy metal marines of old, more of a complete redo to some retro style technology.
The bits could be used for countless conversions, those "old" Roman style Terminator shoulders would look great on vet units that survived for a millennium in a Chaos or standard army.
Stand alone you could conjure up whole Heresy era armies that would match the art and fluff. Luna Wolves, Death Guard or Thousand Sons just to tickle a fancy.
You could even justify a "speartip" as a horde army with tons of new astartes warriors lead by an elite command squad, very few tanks and drednaughts. Just a bunch of foot sloggers in cool armor.
It could be a whole new way of seeing Marines, some interesting miniatures and a great addition to Forge World range.

verminard, if I may point you in the direction of BoLS's gamebook, Warhammer 30,000: The Horus Heresy. All the ancient stuff to fill you to your heart's content.

I was about to say, BOLS did mini dex's concerning the heresy and the macharian crusade. One concentrates on SMurfs and the other concerns guard mostly.

I wish GW had read that Macharian Crusade mini-dex. It actually made the Guard cool and useful.

wat are adeptes machanicks wat are squats lost and damed are not that good new alian race wats left out thare comeys i mean a super intelagent hyper organised armey of blue midgets is out of the question a race of adrenalin junkies that live for war and are grude with there weponrey is out a race that stripes planets of there evrey thing is out wats left o i know a predator to the alians Adeptus Mechanicus: Y'know the guys that keep the Imperium running? The Cult of the Machine Spirit, the Techpriests of Mars, Enginseers. They are practically an empire within the Imperium, having their own Forge Worlds where they produce a majority of the technology of the Imperium. They have their own Skitarii Legions and are the ones running the Titans. Least not said that they have their own fleet and wage their own wars. In fact, the Tau is a fledgling empire of some less than 100 worlds, out of which barely 20 is heavily populated. The Adeptus Mechanicus control easily more than a hundred times more worlds, most of which are covered in factory cathedrals and crewed by millions of workers and servitors. Squats: Dwarfs, in SPAAAAAAAAACE!

I could show you all the stat line for squats... but it would probably blow your mind out the back of your skulls. Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millennia cut off from the Imperium and assailed from all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to all. - Leman Russ, Meditations on Imperial Command, Book XVI(alright, mind blowing time.) ::EDIT:: (Not sure if posting this is against the rules, seeing as how the book is long out of print and the army no longer exists...)
