Voting wins, the publics common sense prevailed The public has won the award for the most venality I've seen since I was born. I must congratulate it. It has the government it deserves. It's energy bills will continue to be high. The NHS will be slowly dismantled. Taxes will shrink. Wages will remain some of the lowest in Europe. Railways will continue to be dysfunctional nightmares. Housing will continue to be insanely expensive. So, congratulations. I hope you were enjoying business as usual. Labour began privatising the nhs, conservatives have made an extra 1% privatised. Wages are relative, if greens won and made minimum wage £10ph then a load of bread would go above £2. If the rail was renationalised it would close 1/3 of the lines, at least! Housing will be expensive as long as there is more people than houses... NO government can change that. Business as usual is an economy which is growing faster than any other country in europe and keeping people employed rather than giving them a salary for being unemployed.

The 5 way debate thing seemed to do real harm to Miliband. Everyone resigned except Cameron, Sturgeon and Bennett..

i am wary of politics discussions in a 40k forum, I have strong political views which I hold to myself and don't want to get into a weird debate when I'd rather be discussing the latest tax paying potato queen that Reds has spoken to.
because that isn't a weird debate; its what the today thread is.
however, i can keep my opinion to myself enough for you to enjoy sharing yours.

So, as some of you may remember, I'm a fan of Dreamforge minis. They just released female carapace vets for $20 for ten while the sale lasts. It's also worth pointing out that all their minis are on sale (for ridiculously cheap compared to GW), and their big, stompy, Not-Imperial Knight doom robots are half the price of their GW equivalents. This is RedsandRoyals, bringing you up-to-the-minute Consumer News whenever the hell I feel like it

So...school has yet to start but I am learning every day at work. Being a machinist is challenging! So many variables. I like everyone I work with and get along with them for the most part. I can get off probation early! My PO said that my 'Frost' number has down graded from a 6 to a 5. A Frost number is the numeric value assigned to whether I will re-offend or cause other trouble. And best of all I have a cat now. He looks just like Trickstick's avatar. His name is 'Jet-Fighter Assassin Grognard Butt-dart'. He is such a good cat. I love him.

Edit: Jet-Fighter Assassin Grognard Butt-dart, quit antagonizing Ulrich Wordcrusher!

Labour began privatising the nhs, Incorrect, this began under the Major government. Wages are relative, if greens won and made minimum wage £10ph then a load of bread would go above £2. Incorrect, wages are only one (of multiple) drivers of inflation, and there is no data to suggest a minimum wage increase ti £8 per hour would result in significant inflation. If the rail was renationalised it would close 1/3 of the lines, at least! The actual maintenance and operation of the lines is already done by the government already. Changing ownership is not going to change the profitability of the lines, though the governments' cheaper access to investment as compared to private carriers may allow it to carry out the much needed modernization and expansion investment. Housing will be expensive as long as there is more people than houses... NO government can change that. Aside, of course, from every government in Europe, and the Attlee government from 1945 onwards with it's massive social housing programme. Any government can change it. You build more houses and you make renting less profitable. Business as usual is an economy which is growing faster than any other country in europe and keeping people employed rather than giving them a salary for being unemployed. Also has the lowest wages and lowest productivity of the G10. But keeping unemployment low is quite easy when you kill off the unemployed or force them into working for below minimum wage. At least the Imperium just conscripts you. And if we're going to talk about being given a salary for being unemployed; Jobseekers allowance is £56 a week, or approximately 1 day's worth of work at minimum wage. Of course, when it's rich people being handed money for doing nothing, such as private landlords, or companies like ATOS and G4S and Serco; well, that's totally different. They're respectable. They don't need they money, so that makes it so much better to give it to them.

People on jobseekers allowance are also entitled to lots of other benefits, housing, council tax etc, etc. People on minimum wage in general don't get these benefits which is why a lot of people prefer to stay unemployed. Some friends of mine who both work and have an 11 month old son, they would like a bigger family but can't afford it (they struggle as it is). The couple who live next door to them don't work have three kids (expecting another), have a big TV and go on holiday, all paid for by Tax payers. I'm self employed and am a lot poorer then a lot of my friends who don't work. Kinda urinate me off when my friend moans about the Tories cutting his benefits while he's wearing his new Nike trainers that he had to buy because his last pair got a stain on them. Also from leaving college at 19 until I started working for myself at 30 I spent a lot of time unemployed (4 years for one stretch) so I know how easy a life on benefits can be.

Which is a stunning indictment of how poor the minimum wage is and how a graduated universal income system is needed. If only another party had promised to raise it. A...Labour, party, if you will. Also, people on minimum wage are entirely entitled to housing benefit, council tax benefits and so on if they're earning below a certain threshold. Ironically, it's topping up the wages of minimum wage workers that costs the country more than the actual unemployed.

So, here are the results of my faffing about with solvents and vintage WW II greasy metal today: Stainmaker took a big step forward today, and I am most pleased. I got the non-disintegrating belts, and ammo can cleaned up, slotted dummy rounds into one of the belts (and then removed some of them to make it look like some shots had been fired). In other news, to provide diversion while waiting for parts and accessories to arrive for my Smartgunner costume build, I have also embarked upon putting together a Colonial Marine Dropship pilot costume, which will be the least expensive of my costume builds... <.< >.>

In non-political news, I just discovered that the entirety of Eureka Seven is on Netflix, with the option to watch in the original Japanese.
Oh, how I wish I had this week off...

Today, I'm writing a letter to express my displeasure with the slipshod service of one of our vendors at work. Which would be a better end to the letter on?
"Yours in eternal vengeance,"
or
"May hornets infest your underpants,"
