Any way you want it, discuss!

I sometimes take SoB allies, but never at 1000pts or below, and rarely at 1500pts.
I find that a Canoness and some Seraphim can be a nightmare for enemy Gunlines and Mechanized armies. Even a squad or two of SoB are good for anchoring the flanks, or just being a huge distraction. When I put troops in Power Armour down along with your IG, people seem to want to kill them, often at the cost of crippling my armour or gunline.

SoBs are a nice unit to have tagging along in the IG, and chances are if you run huge platoons you'll probably have a troop slot or two left over
give them a rhino and you have some extra hard armored fists, and with BS4 with the ability to double pack those meltaguns (the extra doors on a rhino makes it particularly great for drivebys)

What about dominions? Are they a good IG support choice?

I'm just getting into fielding SoB's along my Guard, I'm going to have more than enough models to field its own 1000-1250 army, but not all will be included of-course.
I've been thinking of fielding a unit of Celestians or Dominons with meltaguns in a melta Immolator alongside Creed and outflank them. I guess a Devil Dog would be more effective/survivable, but it's not sisters...

Assault Marines. It's a pretty good feeling to have a nice unit with a great assaulting punch. It can keep up with the rest of the force, and I've already got the ranged covered. Occasionally I'd take maybe a Captain or Chaplain and attaching them to the squad, or maybe getting some Normal Marines or Terminators for fire support.

Umm... did you post in the right thread, because there are no rules allowing you to ever have SM and IG in the same list (apart from Apocalypse)

I did mean anything. All tactics are good, as long as they're legal somewhere.

two small FOCs?
I think that is still legal if your opponent agrees to it...

That is true. I have seen games where Necrons have an H.Q and 3 troops, with Guard having an H.Q and 2 troops with some elites.

Is it possible to have Celestine in an army that uses WH as allies? Or is that limited to WH armies that have IG as allies?

The living saint must be in a WH army of 1500 pts or more, so can only be taken in a WH army with Inducted Guard (or without for that matter). The question is though if we can take Al'Rahem, Chenkov, Pask and Mogul in Inducted IG... I can't see any rule against it...

That's why I asked, as there are no restrictions on SC's in the new 'dexs.

What about dominions? Are they a good IG support choice? Yes. Put them in an Immolator and give four of them Melta's. Excellent choice there.

It can be. I used to have a squad of Grey Knights I threw in as elites. It was an experiment that I ended, preferring to either use Deathwatch or, more preferably, more Guardsmen. The cost of a unit of Grey Knights can sort of be an albatross around a Guard lists neck.

That's half the reason I prefer WH allies.

That's half the reason I prefer WH allies. Can't help but agree. Battle Sisters have good killing power for cost, a much better price to punch ratio than Grey Knights. Grey Knights are simply not cost effective, even with their Storm Bolters. Getting the points back for a single unit of Grey Knights is a real chore, one that I never was able to pull off with regularity.

If I run my SOb with my current guard I'd have to run dual FO's. Be a rather large game in the end.
